Delivery in 3 months???

Hi Guys,
I finalized my order the last week of August..the dealer says that the car will here end of Oct, he tells me that now it not be here until mid to end NOV??? I'm like WTF
I wonder if he has given my allocation to someone else...

When I ordered new in US it was 6 weeks...

Is this typical for Canadian deliveries?

Very common if you're car and pkg/color selection is not in stock or cannot be sourced from another dealer....

Definitely common if your car is being built to your specs. I ordered my car back in late February of 2009 and didn't take delivery until the end of May of 2009.

This is not atypical of Canadian special orders. My wait for the M3 was over 6 months! Granted, they had to order the car twice since the first build was incorrect. My properly specc'd car was ordered on May 28th 2011, and I took delivery on September 2nd 2011

Be thankful that you live in T.O; for us Western folks, the train ride adds another couple of weeks to the already painful wait!

I had the same experience last year. Ordered the car and was told August build with October delivery. Ended up September build with November delivery. Worked out well though as I ended up with some major software updates. Did have to do a lease extension on the old car though. Either way it is totally worth the wait to get just what you want and know that it is yours.

I gave up on factory order. I cant take the wait. There is almost always a car close enough if not exactly what I want on the ground somewhere.

This is more likely if you want an AT. Dealers don't usually get MT's for their inventory so if you want to shift on your own, you'll be ordering from the factory.

My MT took just over 3 months from order to delivery.

My dealer found my 6MT 335IS in Calgary and it should be here at the end of the month, so dealers do have 6MTs on site but you got to find them.

I wanted to but my wife couldnt get the time off and anyone else I know could not afford it. Unlike the US where they give you a free plane ticket..

The 335xi is more for my wife..she wanted a specific colour and options..she has ALOT of patience..

It really depends though on what you want...

For me after I ordered my car, I asked the dealer just out of curiosity if they would ever order a car exactly like mine and they said most likely no, but didn't say never. Certain options and colour will be hard to sell. I have e92 335xi LeMans Blue fully loaded except the Individual option.

I have no problems waiting for something that I want, no doubt waiting sucks but its worth it I was ready for it, it was a bit difficult esp doing the ED already had the car then have to "return it" to be shipped.
