New PPK software (dec12)

Hi ladies and guys

As i mentioned in another thread, my PPK got updated with the latest version.

My problem was:

- cold start problems. Engine starves very easy when cold at low temp.
- got a limp once (no code found)

Got the new software installed under warrenty incl plugs!

- car has no problems at cold start
- power delivery is smoother
- fuel consumption is a LOT better (1L/100km!!!)

Overall it was a good thing updating. I don't know if the problem or the better performance was because of the Software or the plugs...

Nice. Wonder if it had to do with different N55 roms (do some of us have different ones? It's the same engine, no?)

ROMs are simply how BMW differs each car based on features. You and I might have identical cars except maybe I have a heated steering wheel and you don't. That small difference can mean that you and I have different ROMs. I know that seems like a really vague explanation, and it is pretty simplified, but it really is just something on the ECU that differentiates the BMWs based on their features.

Sure

At colder temps (starting 4C and colder) the car started ok. It had a bit of a longer crank but it started up. Then i put the car in gear (MT) and drive off... Except the car would starve most of the time when i release the clutch and press the throttle... I had to rev it past 1800 to start without starving... ONLY when the car was cold!

Still don't know if it was the PPK or the plugs (30k miles and no other tune)
