Sorry, don't have any before shots but I think the very slight green shade suits the cream beige interior Last edited by systech; 11-20-2009 at 12:09 AM.. |

Systec, thanks for posting the pic. I think it looks very nice. I never noticed the green before. Maybe it was because my car had a grey interior. I wonder if the standard BMW glass may have a slight green tint already.

I'm getting mine done tomorrow at westside bmw brisbane getting the 3M tint yes you pay more but bmw are liable for anything that goes wrong or broken trim fittings heard so many things go wrong plus mines a coupe and climbing over the seats is not my cup of tea I'm too much a perfectionist.

Just had mine done at Adelaide BMW yesterday. Say what you want about BMW dealers, but I must say, they did an amazing job. It cost $695 for a 335 coupe which is probably a bit higher than some places but I got what I paid for so to speak. Really impressed. They probably get someone in to do it which isn't much help but I don't care as it looks great.
I wont post pictures as there is nothing special about it, except that the quality of work is fantastic, and it is a very dark finish and not too reflective which is just how I like it. |

Here is before shot and after shot by bmw 3m tint darkest legal tint makes a big difference well worth the money bmw had the car over night with the heat lamps on to make sure it sticks and no bubbles.

thats as dark as your gonna get for 35% legal grade tint... plus he has white / cream leather interior which bounces the light around inside the car making it brighter

Just a heads up. E90's (not sure about E92's) can have issues with scratching the inside of window tint. Mine has with the inside of the drivers window showing ~10 fine straight scratches shortly after it was fitted.
Some research on the main board indicated it is a pretty common problem and related to the internal weather shield inside the door trim. Some owners have removed the internal shield while others have bought an after market liner to eliminate the problem. Now I just don’t open the windows!

yeah its certainly not all cars or all windows - unfortunately mine is one that has. It obviously requires some dirt to somehow get inside the interior of the door onto the internal weather shield.
The other windows have gone down on occasion and not yet scratched. Risk managing it by leaving them up.

Okay - here is a before and after shot. It was tinted by Adelaide BMW. Not a single bubble or anything (they had the car overnight so it may have had heat lamps on it). It looks really dark but the angle of the sun may have had something to do with that.
Its been done for two weeks now and I use my windows every day and there are no signs of scratches on the film like some have experienced so maybe I am lucky or mabe the Sep 09 builds fixed that issue. Again, it cost me $695 which is a bit steep but I knew I was paying a premium in return for the BMW assurance that they wouldn't damage my car in the process. There was absolutely no damage to the inside of my car and I'm very happy with the outcome. |
