What it should be worth, or what you can get for it in this market? Also private party, tradein or retail?

no other options - however bluetooth is already part of the nav package, I am considering my options between private party and trade in as i do have my eye on an m3 or a GTR.
No body work on the car |

Considering 2006s are going for 25K at best, I'd say 30K is more realistic for your car for private party.

30k sounds about right for what it would actually get sold for if you were serious. I saw about 15 335's on cars.com today, all under 20K miles and well equipped (some w/o nav though) all going between $23-$28k.
its a buyers market obviously. edit: it was under 30k not 20k. Last edited by UdubBadger; 01-21-2009 at 09:27 AM.. |

Hmm, cars.com shows the lowest price of a nav equipped coupe under 20k miles in my area at $42k, i am pretty sure Delaware and Wisconsin pricing is a little different than california

I would price it around 38. A private party that appreciates a well cared for car is what you need to get the best money. g/l

hah people saying in the 20k's mean the 328 not 335, 335 right now are going for 33k-34k asking probably getting closer to 30k. Those guys asking for 42k might get it is someone doesn't research cars at all. I see some 08's going for 42k and then some 08's goes for 35k even on his forum there's an 08 coupe in great condition for 33k... I'd still ask 32k or something.
it sucks that all our cars in the past few months value went in the can. They should be worth more but when BMW will lease them "nicely equipped" for just over $500 right now it's a haaaard sell for the 2nd hand ones. |

http://www.cars.com/go/search/detail...5&aff=national http://www.cars.com/go/search/detail...5&aff=national I'd say stick to $30k or just under and it might actually sell instead of sitting around a collecting dust. |

I happen to totally agree, he might be able to get more than those cars I posted (which are also in Chicago, not Cali) but my point is that when you have a buyer looking for a 335, they are going to compare what is out there... all of it. Sedan maybe not, people who want an e92 will obviously look at coupes but 10k or close to 30k, if it is going to save them a few thousand dollars, especially right now in the economic down time, they might end up going with a little bit higher mileage car, which is why I say if you price it more competitively then the car would sell a lot easier (obviously).
take that 2nd one I posted for example. $28.9k for that one, very well equipped and 22k. It doesn't have the navi, like the OP's but if the OP is pricing at $33-34k, with 12k less miles, I don't think comparatively most people would opt to spend $4-5k more for that much less miles and a navi. Which is why I was saying, if he prices it at like $29.5 or even $30k he now is only $1k away for that price and its more appealing to a buyer to take it to get 12k less miles and a navi. Unfortunately, no matter what, he probably just isn't gonna see what he would have for the car compared to what it would have been if it was last year at this time. my suggestion to you would be find a similar equipped car in your area, then use edmunds.com to find out what they value that car at. Then do the same for your car, mark down the difference between the two of them and then use that same difference ratio to then price your car similarly to what is out there being sold right now. example: Other car - same options, 10,000 more miles than yours and same condition Dealership price - 29500 then say edmunds prices it at $33k your car - same options 10,000 less miles and same condition Edmunds says $35k so 33/35 is about 95% so you should take the price of the other car and add on 5%... thus finding out your car should sell or at least would be competitively priced at (29500x1.05) $30975. |

I know the different model numbers. But I'm comparing Top 2006 vs Top 2007. You can think it's worth 35K, but considering someone can get an 2006 for 25K then 30K is about right for a 2007.
Actually, 30K might be too high considering 2008's are going for mid 30's http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=201089

uhhh... all those car dealers are affililated or owned by luxury motors. anyone from the midwest knows not to buy cars from there. google their name and see how many lawsuits they have pending for selling accident or frame damaged cars and fudging with the carfax...those car values are completely out of whack with the rest of the market. |
