yeah, just figured i'd try stage 2 with the upgraded intercooler. Should have dynoed both stage 1 and stage 2 but didn't want to hold everyone up.

how come stage 2 canbus runs more boost than stage 3 non-canbus?

All things equal, it doesn't. But in Yinger's case, he's got a strange combo of mods. FMIC but essentially stock everywhere else. Stg 3 is the only map that actually expects low iATs.

I'm running an upgraded FMIC with stock exhaust also.....but on stage 1 map.

What does the stage 3 do to accomodate an intercooler upgrade?

Different IAT/Boost compensations.

So, is it better to run stage 1 and turn up the UT if we have upgraded FMIC with stock DP and/or catback?

+1 Good question.....

Would this compensate for the lower intake temps and corresponding lower boost?

Shiv or anyone who can chime in,
I posted one on 1st page. (Stage 1 canbus, 75% UT) Question regarding the dyno chart. What is the little spike in power at 4300 rpm?

At least for me, I think Yinger's mods are perfectly logical. I have no plans to remove my primary cats (trying to stay legal) and an intercooler is the next mod on my list (I know, I know, I removed my secondary cats, but I think they are only effective during cold start anyway). So, is a tune, DCI, downpipe-back exhaust, and intercooler that unusual? Are there any plans to create a map specifically for this combo? Thanks.

Nice #'s

I wasn't at dyno day, but I was at the same dyno 1 day before dyno day. Here are my #'s for comparison sake. (It was a little cooler the day I dyno'd)

Mods are:

AR designs dp
Injen DCI
HKS exhaust
ETS FMIC
JB 3 map #3 (91 octane)
heavy 19's

Yah, I saw this post, but I'll be honest...that's very hard to believe that you pulled off those numbers with only 91 octane.
Great job.

I dynoed with kryze and had 91 as well. We both got similar numbers. I believe weather was a big factor.

91 octane (chevron).. My car has not seen 100 octane period. I have no ties / sponsorship w/ any of the above manufactures. This is an independent dyno session I paid for out of my pocket. Why would I post up lies?

Well I do have a frequent dyno card w/ MD. So i'll dyno on a hotter day where conditions are less than ideal. The day I dyno'd it was 10 am 66 degrees about 85% humidity so take that for what its worth.

Am I the only guy wondering why these runs are SAE Corrected? Which seem to be the industry average for comparing nationally?

Is this just so everyone feels better about their power 'today'?

LOL it was Father's Day... give everyone the chance to feel good.

BTW, you've been a member since 2007; you should know that standard e90post dyno's are in STD!

Yeah... I guess I've just always compared to 'all the other' forums... and they are SAE...

Don't let the M3Post guys know! :P

Shiv, incase you don't know this is very common combo. I have upgraded FMIC too and stock exhaust etc. In future if I mod anymore, it will be DPs for an even stranger combo. So is it? I think not, just the opposite. Maybe do a poll. Might want to account for this in your upcoming autotune.
