There's no Voice Control harness, it is software in the CIC.

Either thru MOST or thru 2 wires at one of the mini 12-pin connectors in the Quadralock.

I'm kinda thinking it should be a code for "retrofit", not "repair" - even then, supposedly it cannot be purchased in the U.S.

Try it, but i'm 99.99999999% sure that no one but a dealer can order it, and it sure seems like no US dealers can order it.

It means nothing... the P/N changed. And no dealer in the USA will be able to order a set of FSC for a non-2009 VIN even with the correct P/N.

Check the P/N against a Professional Navigation car. It should be Nav = Map.

Technic,

I have old Idrive and thinking of doing this retrofit of new CIC IDrive.

I have the USB option in the centre console/armrest. Will this be ok for the new CIC and do i have to change anything for the USB?

And, where do i get the HD Screen video cable jack (round, 4 wires) if there is no part number?!

Also need a good local garage near Aberdeen with Autologic to program the damn thing or would it have to go to the BMW dealer?

CIC HD Screen cable: 61 11 9 185 171
CIC HD Screen connector: 61 13 6 954 526 (posted by Booster4075)
USB Port: 61 31 9 167 196
USB Port cable: 61 12 9 196 805 (posted by Booster4075)

These P/N are the only ones that have not been superceded so far, the controller, the CIC and the screen P/N have been superceded at least 2 times so far. That's the reason that I do not post any of those P/N as they will just create confusion... just get the latest P/N that you can.

Autologic is able to code the CIC to your VIN (they did mine) and currently they are working on a method of importing the FSC. I should be testing a prototype Autologic code to enable 2009 Assist TCU features in my 2008 CIC setup soon as well, so it is a matter of time that Autologic will be able to do the full coding of a CIC retrofit including TCU.

Codes are only available at the dealer, and only at those Euro BMW dealers that know how to order them for pre-2009 cars.

The 6FL option works with my CIC, so no need to change it.

The glovebox USB jack is to load music into the HDD, but you can do that thru the DVD player as well.

Before you start spending money on this retrofit I would suggest checking if the FSC codes can be generated for your car.
You can always buy everything else needed to finish the installation, but without the codes you will not be able to activate the Navigation.

Then make sure you have somebody to import these codes into your CIC. There are very few people who can do it.

Everything else is a piece of cake

I apologize if it has been mentioned, but I couldn't find an answer to my question by quickly skimming the thread:

What is the approximate cost of a CCC --> CIC upgrade?

these prices are approximate .... on ebay ...

CIC 500-600 EURO
CONTROLLER 70-150 EURO
HD MONITOR 500-700 EURO

In bmw official this price is more than double

But the first problem is the FSC code ...

Are the FSC codes only available at a BMW dealer or can I give someone in the know my VIN number to obtain these?

Is there a specific p/n for these or do i just ask for an FSC code for the CIC?

The BMW dealer only orders the FSC, BMWAG itself generates the codes; 24 hours later the dealer receives them in their system.

Got me wondering whether or not I could order the codes from my old BMW dealership in the UK, they used to look after my E46. I still get re-directed mail from them.

Can someone post the OEM wire colors for the CID and Controller?

From the pics looks like...

CID: Brown(-), Red/yellow(+), Green(CAN?), Orange/Green(CAN?)

Controller: Brown(-), ??(+), Green(CAN?), Orange/Green(CAN?)

TIA
