would be great for AT guys to find the transmission data. Seems is not there at the moment with the data included. I fixed the connection now by using your set of files VAS!

Yes, NCSExpert in the zip file works great. I coded a bunch of stuff on my car.
Do you also have to change variables and path for the NCSExpert? I still can't seem to get it working...

NCSExpert relies on INPA. If INPA is working so should NCSExpert.

Correct! What you are skipping is a somewhat costly visit to a BMW Dealership and the possibility of them not coding the injectors correctly.

Wait I thought NCSexpert is a totally different program...You mean I had all the functions already working in the INPA? I guess I dont know how to read German then! I had no idea if you loaded INPA that NCSexpert is already functioning within INPA. Am I understanding this correctly?? Vasillov?

If thats the case I have been driving myself nuts today trying to get it to work, and it was already working! lol

Awesome! Thanks, my car has had a few misfires that I think may be related to a faulty injector or a spark plug, I'll look in to this and rule them out. This DIY is definitely very nicely made. Thanks!

NCSExpert is a totally different program than INPA. However it still uses the same communication layer provided by EDIABAS.

To better illustrate how communication flows:

Car <-> USB Cable <-> USB Port<-> EDIABAS Communication Layer <-> INPA

Or

Car <-> USB Cable <-> USB Port <-> EDIABAS Communication Layer <-> NCSEXPERT

The zip file I provided contains the working set of EDIABAS, INPA and NCSEXpert. The ONLY thing that needs to be set up are the drivers and the USB port settings which is in the DIY pdf file.

Read NCSExpert DIY again. It explains you how things work. When you start NCSEXpert, you need to load a profile before you can do anything with it.

Thanks V. The weird part is I have INPA loading up with no problem but when I try to load NCSexpert it tells me it's not compatible. If I got INPA to work and load, I can't seem to get NCSexpert to load too! I most likely won't mess with it but I have some time to play with it and I want to get it working at least!! Lol. I hate when I can't do something. Lol

You can't use both at the same time! One program at a time! Also, perhaps this is related to you running a 64-bit system.

yeah i figured this was the issue as i have tried everything to get it to work...I wonder if anyone who has 64 bit has this working?? Anyone

If all else fails at least I can use INPA...The coding stuff looks too complicated anyways, plus I already have my car coded to the functions I wanted awhile back from a coder when it first came out for the E90x..

cn, my understanding of it all is that ncs expert uses some 16 bit architecture, and will only work on 32 bit systems.

I finally got it working but on my old IBM Thinkpad 600E This freaking thing is soooo slow but everything works including the NCSexpert and all the other stuff

Now I just have to get the cable!!

I was messing around with NCSExpert and when it states to choose chassis there is no E90x available? Vasillov what did you use?

All I can say is the processing speed of my IBM Thinkpad from 1998 is far from fast! Took me forever to load the program to it..Finally its done and I can give it a rest until I receive my cable...This was not an easy task to get it working to say the least! Persistency helps when your determined not to fail!

lol...I would need alot more time to understand what to do as for coding...Injectors and battery coding I can handle that from Vasillov's DIY...that seems easy and a walk in the park!

INPA can work with Windows 7 and 64 bit, just have to run in XP compatibility mode...The NCSexpert will NOT work with it at all...

Wow that is huge! Once you translate the INPA, get crackin on translating the NCSexpert!

Either way man, it was a big help to the community...

Can I assume that if you are only interested in coding the injectors.....then you do not need to install NCSexpert?

Seems like the injector calibration is done using only INPA.

Yes... I just wanted it ALL! After reading the DIY NCSexpert DIY coding, I think I will take my time and read and read some more before I even go into that, but for now coding the injectors and whatever Vasillov has in the works is what most will need...
