We are now offering N55 Engine software in the US. N55 335 gains 46hp and 88.5 pounds of torque.
We also have 335 diesel software. 49hp and 66 pounds of torque. Please call us for information. We finally got the dyno sheet for the N55 software: 339.1 DIN HP = 343.9 SAE HP (US) 505.2 NM torque = 372.7 foot pounds The software has to be loaded into the DME Directly, NO OBD2 port flash available, and won't be for a long time to come - if ever. Call us if interested in the software. Here is also the base dyno results: 298.4 DIN HP = 302.5 SAE HP (US) 377.1 NM Torque = 278.2 foot pounds Just software no other modifications. The software is flash, we can do it with or without the car. The software was developed by PP Performance and Noelle Motors in Germany. The software has undergone extensive reliabilty testing in Europe and in the Middle East.
We are currently doing the first US spec cars and we will have dyno info very soon, and when we do, we will of course share it with everyone. We are very excited to offer this option for N55 tuning. |

I imagine if they can do it with or without the car, then it must be benchload which is somewhat painful.

The N55 software is developed with the new BMW software and is only available as a bench load. No OBD2 interface is posible at this time. The software works with the N55 DME, no matter what chassis the engine is in. It is NOT a shadow program, it is factory BMW based software, shows up on the ISIS and GT1 as BMW software. It does NOT tamper with any emission components.

+1 My question exactly... There is a difference in the BMW software in the 535 and X5's. You (tuner) say it works no matter the chassis, but it is known fact that the software for the X5 and 535's is different than that of the 135/335's. So we are curious to know what differences are there in the flash for the 535 and X5 that take into account the 8 speed transmission...

The N55 software will work in all vehicles with that engine with the exception of the F01 and F02 740. Dyno sheets are forthcomming in a week or so. Call us for more information.

Nice, I'm thinking flash tunes on the N55 are going to be the way to go.
Can you post some dyno charts + datalogs so we can see some results?
