A/C comes on by itself?

I was driving tonight and I noticed the windshield fogging up a bit. I looked down to see that the a/c has turned itself on, to the weakest setting of 1 bar. I turned it off. I thought that my hand may have hit the button while shifting.

I parked the car to run errands and come back an hour or so later. The same thing happened again.

In both instances, it happened only once. After I turned off the a/c, it never came on again for the duration of the drive.

Has this happened to anyone before?

As luck would have it, I'm at 57,xxx miles now and warranty is expired.

check if your temperature knob is stuck. it happened to me once.
