From what I read, the M3 6-speed manual wasn't rated at over 400 ft lbs of torque so that's why they don't offer the manual transmission in any 335d.
Yes, there are going to be plenty of people who chime in and say that there are M3's making 600+ HP, but BMW doesn't have to warranty those transmissions. I'm thinking the weakest link to start with will be the clutch. From there, as long as we don't beat the living daylights out of the tranny, hopefully they'll stay together. Automatics, I'm not sure you have many options to strengthen them.

The problem is he keeps posting things such as "Better update tomorrow with some images and such" and then not delivering. That doesn't bode well with me. I have seen too many people get taken advantage of by supposed upstanding forum members over the years, and I'm just not going to believe anything someone says on faith.

How hard is it to post some pictures if its really all put together? I have never seen a tuner advertise a product on a board they are developing and not post pictures of the development stages whether its a CAI, exhaust, headers or bigger turbos, supercharger.
If it does not feel right it usually is not and it sounds like there is not functioning charger from this gavin character |

Okay... so either ARMA deleted the thread they had going about the research they were doing or i simply just can't find it anymore. So... with that said, i'll stop with the "the transmission can't handle it" comments until i come across it again. Besides that, i think their website is down too... i thought maybe i found it there before.
Whatever... flame on! |

Gavin doesn't owe anyone anything on the supercharger project. Is anyone here giving him r&d money? It is obviously a very complex project. Now for the headers he doesn't owe non paying clients anything but paying clients have a right to info. Other than that the rest of us just have to wait.

+1..stop complaining. regardless of him posting what he wants to post which is resonable, what the hell is he going to do to anyone. i dont see how hes taking advantage of people. playing with their emotions? stupid. everything takes time and id rather be reading technical discussions about the supercharger then this crap.

He is manipulating people. How many people do you think lurk and are waiting for this so called supercharger? I have NEVER seen a product with no development pictures posted if it was something announced as being in the process of being made. Clearly there is no and will never be a working supercharger. No matter to me as obviously I have no need for one but I feel bad for the people holding out for this only to be disapointed |

And besides, your post only further publicizes it.

I've seen it. Its real. Has been on a test vehicle for months. With data logging going on daily over many miles to sort out the kinks. Its so people like you if/when you buy it won't cry about a flaw with it. He was gauging interest by updating which allowed him to see it would be financially feasting build. Maybe stop being so critical and wait and see like everyone else. This forum is full of grown men acting like crying children about everything. Grow up and act like you're an educated human that understands the process of taking an idea and building it into a working product. Its only what this country was based on.

Yup, you're right. I just read some of his other posts. He's a dick.

not that what i think matters... but i'm pretty sure the same people who are complaining about the project and how they want updates aren't even going to buy one, none-the-less less even considering one... you just want to see fancy pictures of someone else's labor and just be able to say "oh! that's cool"... get over yourself.

I'm not sure about options for the manual... i think if you stick with basic flywheel and clutch upgrades, you could handle the power just fine. I don't particularly hear about any other parts in the manual breaking or getting off track. Last edited by N0OS3; 12-15-2011 at 01:33 PM.. |

The 335i tranny wasn't even rated for over 300ft/lb, from what I remember reading... Look at what people are pushing now. |
