Debadging Cars
I just want to know more about taking the back number badging off cars.
Why do most people do it? Is it a DIY or is there body work needed? ... cost? I have tried searching but don't know what to look for. THX

heat up the glue behind the numbers with the hair dryer, run the dental floss behind it to cut it. Use the goo-gone and a cloth to remove the residue.

Use dental floss to take out emblem and then use Goo-Gone to wipe out the residue.

For the detailing freaks out there, be aware that goo gone does strip any carnauba or sealant that you had on there. Make sure to clean the area after with soap and water and re apply another layer of wax/sealant.

badge on...
I have a feeling this is gonna turn into a 335 vs other 3s again personally I don't know of many 335 drivers that debadge most ppl debadge to hide that they have the lower model... or so I feel.. I'm display my 335 badge proudly in fact, I'm trying to find 335i Tshirts/caps not regular 3 series.. just to differentiate myself from all the 320s that ride around..

i agree with you - in America that is seems to be the case, but i have spent significant time working in germany and i have discovered a lot of the high-end models (what we take for granted as we dont' have 4cyl 3ers) remove their badges as a security measure, so that their cars are sorta in disguise.

I'm still debating between leaving it on or off. For now I think I will keep it on until I do more mods.

i think i would debadge my car if i updated the ECU. i would like to sport a DINAN3 badge if they did the work, but that requires another $8k in dinan stuff.

Debadging your car has nothing to do with trying to "hide" somehting. I have debadged every car I have owned. Going back to a 79' Vette, 86' Porsche 944 turbo, 88' m3, up untill now. It's clean, the way it should be.
Plus anyone who knows anything about cars will know the differnece between a 335 and a 328 when they see them, so why boast? Take the shite off!
