Bad economy ='s Great used car deals.

The used car deals I am seeing are just crazy. The economy may be to blame for people selling their toys.

I have owned one red car, 280Z, and it is not my first color of choice but damn this deal is very tempting.
Cars are not a good investment as we all know but this is nuts.

Check out the odometer.

06' Porsche Carrera S Convertible Red with Black Leather, 6spd, Bose High End Sound, Heated Seats, Crests in Headrests, Remote CD Changer, Factory Sport Exhaust System, Guards Red Seat Belts, One Owner Bought New, 106k New. $64,750.00

Basic Stats:
911 Carrera S Cabriolet $96,800 355 hp (265 kW/360 PS) @ 6600 rpm, 3.8 L dry-sump 4.3 s 188 mph (303 km/h)

4.3 0-60 time seems to be stretching it.

I'm really hoping BMWFS will deal down the buyout on my 330i at lease end in Sept '09.

I was just looking at a 2005 CL65, MSRP was $169K with some other options it was probably pushing $180K. I had to a double take, because it was listed on eBay buy-it-now for $47,900!! Damn, it's worth less than 1/3 of the original value after 4 years!

Haha, I will later tonight. I'm about to catch a plane. Maybe someone else can do it for me?

05 Turbo. Asking 69K.
What would the 0-60 figure be? Around 4 flat?

Didn't the 05's have cooling problems?

There are a LOT of smoking deals out there. Maybe it's symptomatic of the fact we might be living in one giant asset bubble.

there are lots of good deals out there but that is for a reason... the world is going into recession. companies are having trouble and that means people will lose jobs / incomes will fall. none of this is going to change anytime soon. buyers beware.

Gonzo,

Where are you finding these cars? And, it seems like you've found so many great deals; so why haven't you scooped one up yet?

I find them here and there. The goal is a great deal and a car I will keep a while this time.

A performance sedan was the main focus then I thought about how many times I really have or want more than one passenger with me. Not throwing out a sedan as the purchase.

I have not pulled the trigger for several reasons. The main one is that prices seem to be getting better and better for the buyers. People are dumping their "toys" and I will be patient to get what I want for what I want to pay.

Example...again.

On my way to a gathering yesterday my car took an abrupt turn into this store....
08 Z06 2LZ package. Black/Black. 745 miles------Asking $55,600.
I mean it is crazy. For let's say $53,000 after negotiating how can you beat this? I am not a big Vette guy and have never even driven a Z06. But from what I have read and heard this may need a test drive. It can also hold two normal sized golf bags. Sounds petty but it's not.
Porsche is where my heart is at but my wallet is being more open minded. Basically a car that pulls like a freight train in every gear would be nice. The P cars will hold a better value of course.

well, since you started the post with a great deal on a p-car, looks like they aren't holding their value much just like all others :/

that Z06 does look very tempting.

Corvettes are a lot cheaper to service than Porsches, as I recall. Not to sure about the cost for a new Z06, but with a Porsche it has to go on a lift and drop the engine out every time you need to service it.

The deals I am posting are exceptions actually. The other 05 Cab Turbos I have looked at are more money and way more miles.

The Z06 is very tempting. I wish it was Machine Silver.
I don't care what you do, black paint forms swirl marks sitting in the garage.

You are partially correct. And yes, service issues are in the equation. But they are so damn beautiful.....

Nice! So that 997 you were telling me about was from Park Place, I may have seen it in person then. It is beautiful, I'd go with it over the 996.
