remove center / rear mufflers?

I've seen a ton of posts here and some other places on people doing aftermarket exhausts or replacing exhausts and removing dpf etc but has anyone removed center and rear mufflers and put straight pipe? this is an easy mod even for leases as you can buy the exhaust connectors from bmw and do no welding .. and attach stock exhaust when you return the car I'm just wondering how it would sound ... might Wing this soon just wanted opinions

From what I understand the net gains (whether that be sound or performance) are next to nothing

There is no center muffler on our diesels - that is the SCR catalyst.

There aren't any gains aside from a less muted (and by less muted, you actually get one) exhaust note. Also, the removal of the DPF increases exhaust pressure, and that has to be accounted for.

Simple removal on any car doesn't yield great gains...this is a supporting mod, not a primary one.

I removed my rear section muffler with straight pipes. No changes.

yeah I didn't really care about the gains at this point maybe some exhaust note and a little turbo whine but looks like that can't be had with this mod.. the car goes back in 2 years so I don't want to get into any crazy mods but hey it was worth a try!!
