-put on lift/ jack stands -remove 8 torx (T45 i think) from the plate on chassis below exhaust. -remove 8 bolts holding the exhaust on 2xinverted torx on the mufflers mount 2x18mm nuts near the diff 2x13mm near the transmsision 2xnuts at the DPF flange 2x8mm bolts for the rear NOX sensor mount. Its just above the aluminum driveshaft shielding. Just trace the red NOX sheath. -push exhaust towards the rear of the car to remove. The exhausts much lighter than it looks. -Place on stand or floor -With an angle grinder, cut a square on top of the SCR -I used a hammer/crow bar to remove the SCR and a shop vac to clean the remaining debris out of the exhaust. -once it was removed, I used a grinder to clean the edges I cut. -Weld together. I used an old mig welder with the incorrect gas for stainless. -Once it cools, reinstall exhaust. Done & Done! I do not recommend gutting this using any other method as there is matting that surrounds the SCR element. You have to remove all of it or it will be a restriction as it get blown downstream. I really wish there was the option of putting something in the empty SCR box that would keep the quiet stealth sound. With this as my daily driver, I am not excited about big turbo whistle sound. Has anyone considered baffling the innards? |

The cross member is a T-50 and depending on 2009-2011 it'll have 8 or 4 bolts.. Old models have more.. No idea why they used a smaller cross member on newer mods.. Best I can figure it's to hold the heat shield in place.. Anyway those t-50 bolts have a habit of breaking my torx sockets.. Got a whole pile of broken t-50s from these cars and that stupid cross member

It seems lately most people are favoring the BPC tune, the one Heather is using, but I did already pay for an Ecotune. It was $900.
Now the vendor in NJ is apparently no longer supporting it and it never worked correctly. I still get CELs that I paid to have tuned out. Is anyone in USA successfully running Ecotune software with complete ABC deletes? If so it might be worth shipping to Scotland to save $1,200. If I am stuck paying for a new stage 2 tune, are they all equivalent? BPC, Renntech, Megaspeed, Malone? Others? Probably have to ship it somewhere this week and make a decision

Correct me if I am mistaken, but BPC is putting down the best #s from what I've seen.
The involvement on the forum and passion of Mr. Bob for tuning earned my business. |

If I didn't have $900 in with the other vendor the decision would be easier. Waiting to hear back from them now.

Loco,
I agree with sleeper. I ran Ecotune first and now running JR Auto/Jarek one. You will go through a lot to prove to Ecotune that things are really happening on your car. Several here were asked to give Stan data to proving the EGR was not off. Other examples but I've forgotten them (urea continuing to spray). Several of us original 10 just walked and switched over to North of the border option and haven't looked back. One of the 10 (that I know of) has progressed further to BPC. Now that Dallas, Georgia is an option for me, I won't have to pay through the nose for back and forth shipping. You have to ask yourself if not spending more money is worth shipping your ECU back and forth to Glaskow and possibly have to continue sort through things further. |

I'm a recent satisfied customer of Jess and BPC. I took my car for the dyno tune (which was worth the trip) and had a Raleigh muffler shop do the SCR gutting. They charged me $200 which seem fair but I think he was pissed when he found no platinum after cutting it open.
