I'm interested in what you find out. I spent an hour going through Brembo's website searching their rotors by dimension. I did't find any upsized rear rotors that work with the 165mm parking brake. The closest one was the 09.C410.13.

I shared this info last year but a lot of my threads were deleted.
Actually all that I have started.
F30 M Sport and Performance is available for both types of rear rotors 1)for 165mm and 2)for 180mm
I have advised quite few to simply just buy one and trim it 5mm so it will fit under the rear 135i setup on e9x
So unfortunate that threads were deleted.

It has been covered already in post #19
"Isn't it simple to just buy f30/328i/428i/ rear M Sport rotor part# 34206797605 345x24 and keep the small 165mm parking brake shoes."
part# 34206797605 is plain blank rotor > called sport
part# 34216864899 is dimpled and slotted > called performance

It was your posts and someone called Vw.. That had me go looking again. Plus I'm currently hunting for rear rotors for unique 1 series issues( 135i caliper and need a compatible rotor for hand brake )

What kind of shop can trim 5mm. What is the process called?

Any shop that can turn/resurface rotors can do this for you. Or any machine shop with lathe can mill it down too.

Hi, All,

This is also interesting topic for me, as I'm going to put the rear 330mm from 335i F30 instead of 300mm on my 320i F30.
And have the same issue to solve- the handbrake drum on 335i is 185mm, while the 320i's is 160mm.
So the idea is why not to machine the metal inserts 12,5mm thick to fill the bigger drum space? It should not be much heavier than the modifed pads.

Few possible reasons, from poor install, to defective, damaged to aftermarket parts.

Either modify the parking brake shoes (build 2 from 4) or modify the MSport/Performance 345x24 f3x rear rotors

I've ordered two sets of handbrake shoes (Bosch) which costed me $30- it seems an easy work for a welder.

Also not to cut and bend the stock shields (for 300mm rotors), the 34 21 6 792 243 & 34 21 6 792 244 (for 345mm rotors) shields are ordered.

The 335i rotors from F30 are 330mm, so the shields for 345mm should not be ridiculously big. I'm going to make one cut in the narrow area, bend the square piece of metal up, insert the shield, bend the square back and screw to the place.

Regarding the adaption of 345mm rotors (for the smaller 160mm handbrake shoes) seems to me less attractive idea, as:

1) 335i rear brake caliper is for 330x20mm rotor, so the 345x24 will need to be cut 15mm in diameter and 4mm from its thickness, thus will become useless like worn-out.
2) The balancing cuts in the rotor enges will be cut off.
