OEM CF Splitters

How can you tell if it's really OEM? I just bought them off a forum member, and I don't see any BMW serial numbers or anything on it...

Why not just ask the member? How much did you pay? Tischer BMW sell these OEM at 480 and that should give you a good idea....

He said they are OEM and that he paid $580 for them. I paid $260... I just don't see any stickers or anything on the inside that says it's BMW OEM.

I think the best way to tell is if they are a perfect fitment, with no gaps or anything. It should sit flush with the car. And they're pretty thin, from what I remember.

OEM has the BMW logo and part number stamped/inked behind the part. I've seen it.

They are pretty thin... I'll have to see how it fits once I put it up against the car...

ummm better question, who WOULDNT care. If they really aren't OEM then not only was he lied, but you can get brand new replica ones for $260

really depends on where you go. quality isnt always the same.

since it says you have an e90, it should also come with that grey felt stuff that sticks on the inner sides of the splitter to protect your paint.

I guess let me put it this way. I use M-force design replica splitters, I dont use double sided tape just the stock screws and it looks great! I have taken them off multiple times to put my car on rhino ramps and there is NO paint damage.

er i was talking about oem... oem should come with the pieces of felt/tape that go onto the splitters.

Is that worth 250 dollars more?

Go with the replicas and buy your own felt....(if you are buying new ones)

As far as the OP, it looks like the seller might have lied to you...

lol i have replica ones... they fit pretty well.. but its not as tight as i was hoping. i'm probably gonna get oem later... after i install my other stuff

What brand? Mine fit very tightly....

i got mine from bmerparts or something from ebay. weave wasnt perfect, it was decent. did not fit to the lines on the side of fogs either.

kujo recommended them to me... since his were supposedly really good

I got mine from M-force design also and it fits 99% perfect. There is minor discrepancy on bottom side of the lips so I don't really care, the the weave pattern is really nice. Personally, I would go with reps for these lips for the OEM front. I don't think it worths the money to get the real deal.

does it meet the line at the side of the fogs? or can u take close up pics of the side of the bumper/splitter area?

just read the thread. yeah i think i'd still prefer splitters that met the line though... but in general i'd like splitters the most if they were molded to the bumper lol.
