Too lazy to see if this is in the user maintained manual. If its not, its needs to be put there. Good work, Maddawg.

Well done, I was thinking about make this tutorial too.
Only one thing: In a PULL I always reccomend to do 3rd into 4th, both to rev limiter... maybe only third gear is short

Good suggestion MuCcIo....I'll make the change in the guide. The intent is to do the full run and capture 3rd 3000-7000 and the gear shift/transition to 4th.

Still need some numbers for IAT and throttle. IAT, I'll just have to compare peoples logs with their set-up/run profile (RPM).

But throttle, I know we are looking for smooth line, no throttle closures at WOT/Pedal to the Floor. But being a new guy, I have yet to see a clear example of this, need logs showing the closure, what the problem was, and what they could do to remedy it. I know with traction control on your see lots of anomalies.

What's the speed at redline in 4th? Might be an issue.

Should we be logging 'Throttle' or 'CAN DBW Throttle'?

What's the difference between the two?

I think throttle means pedal position, CAN DBW is what ecu read (es. when dtc cut throttle).

If that is the case then the most useful info would be to compare where your foot is with what the ECU is doing....

Solution: Overlay Throttle/w CAN DBW Throttle

you may want to add the keyboard shortcuts to start/stop logging. I think it is F7 and F8.

I wish that pressing f7 and f8 was more obvious. I'd love for the whole program to turn green while logging, then turn back to regular color when pressing f8. Its hard as hell to read the lil status bar when trying to drive and logging. I've posted this before. Hopefully one the Vishnu guys pops in this thread.

Good idea on tuturial there a lot of people asking.

Its hard to answer your questions about IAT cause it depends on ambient temps and traffic ETC.

As far as cruising IAT its not really important although usually its about 25 over ambient or 90-105 F.

IAT are not AS important in figuring out how your car is running as much as people tend to believe. (although it is a factor in understanding how your car is responding to boost).

What is important is your ignition, fuel, throttle, boost, and RPM.

IF ignition looks low (under 5 degrees) and there are timing drop outs (non linear graph) then you would want to look at IAT to determine if that may be the route of the cause.

In essence the first few things I mentioned are priority in a log, and there are some secondary logging capabilities like IAT, WGDC, ETC that help aid in troubleshooting and understanding.
