I've had no experience with the N47, the N47 is lighter than the N54 and the N54 tends to cook the drivers side mount from the heat from the twin turbos. I'd say you'd be fine, and don't need to replace them. You can't really tell theyre blown unless you take them out.

I removed the RB Turbos from the engine this morning. Next task is to clen everything ready for installing the Super RB Evos. After having removed two sets of turbos now, I find the hardest task is removing the oil and coolant lines out of the turbos because of the O rings. You can move them around but they require quite a lot of effort to pull them out.

Where's it leaking from? Around the external seal, or from inside the door frame itself?

Crap my rear indicator lights failed. Anyone knows where I should buy them from? I tried FCP but can't find the parts.

Today:
Walnut blast - the different is so noticeable. Back to smooth delivery of power.
New spark plugs - just in case the walnut blast didn’t rule out a slight intermittent stutter
New side indicators - old ones had started to go a little yellow
Restored headlights - started to go a little cloudy
Resealed front door inner membranes - started getting a little weep on both driver and passenger doors into the front cabin on each respective side.

Did you do the walnut blast yourself or at a workshop?

Both failed, or just one side? If it's both, there could be something further 'upstream' that failed, like some indicator 'controller'?

had a look on FCP Euro, came up with this 'repair' kit for the tail lamps :

https://www.fcpeuro.com/products/bmw...ll-63214871753

Maybe email them and double-check that it includes the LED bulbs on the indicator portions...

From reading other forums, it looks like this is a known issue and due to corrosion!

cheers

Took the front seats out of my 1988 E28 M5 and shampooed the carpet. Don't think it had been done in 29 years! Looks great now...

Thanks Socks, will be nice to be running e40 again, just wasn't game to keep running it with the LPFP dropping pressure during WOT
