can someone run the last 7 of my vin to see if i'm in the hpfp or injector recall?
my dealer is notoriously lazy and when i asked him about it he said i wasnt... but my car is an early 07 (door says build was marh or april of 07, cant remember exactly) it has never had the hpfp or injectors replaced as far as i know. it doesnt feel weak but it does crank about 3x longer than my wifes 335i did.. her's would crank almost as fast as you hit the button, and mine cranks for about a full second or two before firing. and whether the car is warm or cold the first drive off in 1st(MT) it feels like its studdering... kinda like when you ride with someone driving stick the first time and its like jump jump jump in 1st only alot less dramatic.
my main concern is i'm about to add, v.5/PWM dp's and intercooler and dont want to kill my already weak pump just to have to turn around and take it all back off. my dealer said they cant replace it just because i say it feels like the pump is weak, they have to go off warranty or and CEL if anyone can/will check this for me it would be great! just PM me and i'll send the last 7 of my vin. didn't you get the recall notice ? BMW is sending out voluntary recalls on the fuel pumps.I had mine changed 2 months ago along with all injectors.

no i just bought the car as a CPO from a dealer, and non of this stuff has been done. is there a number i can call to request the letter since my dealer is being a pita, its like they just dont want to mess with it, and i dont believe they actually looked up my vin for the recall since i'm such an early 07

thats the problem listed above, the SA "says" he checked but it was when i was picking it up from having the turbos replaced a couple weeks ago and he was like "oh yeah" then said he did check already and i wasnt due. like he was blowing me off which this dealer has a rep for doing to many people.

Send an email to a few SAs from various dealerships in your vicinity with your VIN and ask if your car is part of the recall. I did this for my car and I got a new HPFP and 3 new injectors. All work was done for free. Two weeks later, I got the official letter from BMWNA about the recall.

And op I'd check another dealership out when I bought my car they said its been serviced and all up to date. Then when I brought it to my local dealer it had 3 recalls!
