Cross drilled rotors

Where can I get cross drilled rotor for my E92?

I'm only interested in the rotors, not a BBK

I don't think anyone makes replacements for the OEM size.

DBA makes a slotted rotor....in case you're interested. They are the DBA 4000 and 5000. There is a thread on here that explains what they're all about. Tire RAck also sells them.

Sorry, but I'm not sure about drilled.

Hey guys, the rotors are DIMPLE-DRILLED & SLOTTED he did not go with the completely drilled rotors. He has the Porterfield brake pads and loves the way they feel and look Sorry I can't give you more info. Bottom line he loves them. Thanks

The holes don't go completely through on the dimple drilled. So you still get heat dissipation similar to the cross drilled, but without sacrificing rotor strength.

speaking of strength, have you noticed the slots go out to the edge?

Cross-Drilled are actually drilled all the way through.

Dimpled are just indents, and the hole does not go all they way thru.

Just noticed the slots go to the edge too. Any info that discusses how this affects the long term strength of the rotor?

BMW's rotors don't have the slot to the edge either. Maybe there is truth in that statement that it makes the rotors more prone to cracking.

Just installed the Rotora F&R caliper kit and DBA slotted rotor kit. I am very happy with this upgrade and the DBA rotors are actually a little lighter than stock so a welcome surprise. I will post some pics

Slotted is the way to go. Just look at the braking systems on most race cars nowadays. Stoptech has a lot of good info on their site. Here's their take on drilled vs slotted rotors:
Quote:
DRILLED VS SLOTTED ROTORS
For many years most racing rotors were drilled. There were two reasons - the holes gave the "fireband" boundary layer of gasses and particulate matter someplace to go and the edges of the holes gave the pad a better "bite".

Unfortunately the drilled holes also reduced the thermal capacity of the discs and served as very effective "stress raisers" significantly decreasing disc life. Improvements in friction materials have pretty much made the drilled rotor a thing of the past in racing. Most racing rotors currently feature a series of tangential slots or channels that serve the same purpose without the attendant disadvantages.
