who has had leaking AT fluid?

anyone lose fluid from the mechatronics sealing sleeve area? i just noticed a spot in the garage. fairly certain it's not coming from the pan/gasket.

saw this thread posted in the regional NW - but i thought i'd post out here too.

I just had mine replaced after I noticed a large leak from the car sitting for a week in my garage.

If you are still under warranty you should have nothing to worry about.

Otherwise with parts and labor it is about $800 if performed by BMW.

1 you were right about my problem by the way. It was the trans fluid.

I had it also. They replaced the transmission pan gasket and mechtronic sleeve.

Same Issue

I had the same issue about a month ago when the temps started dropping. I've got 45,000 miles so still under warranty. Took it to dealer - fixed at no cost. It's a known problem.

Hey, me too...

Got an oil change at the dealer just before Christmas and parked the 335i in the garage while off to Disney for a week.
Got back and found a puddle under the car. Thought they had messed up the oil change but they told me it was the trans pan sleeve/seal which they replaced.

No warranty, ~$110 part, 3hrs labor(???) and just under $500 out the door with new fluid and tax.

Funny to mention it's related to cold temps and sitting parked cause it got really cold down here that week.
Keep watching the floor when I leave but it hasn't sat as long or been as cold since.

A few months ago I noticed a big puddle of transmission fluid on the garage floor under my 335, but it's still parked for winter and haven't taken it in for repair yet.

I'll probably end up having it towed to the dealer instead of driving it there...

I dont know if it was leaking, but when i had my 07 and i raced someone on the highway, a friend behind me noticed a really peculiar smell that he described as trans fluid. Don't know what it was because i never smelled it (in the car driving it most of the time)

thanks guys, i'm going to keep an eye on it and hope it doesn't lose any more. wierd that it sounds related to cold weather, but makes sense with contracting plastic/gasket. my main fear is if it's losing fluid while driving. even if the puddle doesn't re-appear on the floor, i have no way of checking the fluid level to know what's going on.

yes i'm out of warranty, otherwise i would take straight to the stealer. this is extra annoying b/c i just spent $150 on new fluid months ago...
