Clutch smell at drag racing event after the 4th-5th run but no clutch slip - normal ?

Hi,

I have recently participated at a drag racing event (not really impressive - best ET 12.57 with 2.0 60ft and 113mph exit speed).

Anyway...should I be worried about the clutch smell that I have noticed after about the 4th run (I did 8 runs in total) ? The clutch is a new OEM clutch, installed about 1500 miles ago. Car runs perfectly, with no slip.

I have 275/40/17 Nitto 555R tires, and I only did 2 short burnouts (<1sec) at the first 2 runs.

I have full bolt-ons (including meth) and GIAC Stage 2 Race.

I smell my clutch from time to time. Although not a good thing, I wouldn't worry about it if it doesn't feel like it's slipping. I have well over 300 passes in this car too, to show the extent of how little I'd worry about it.

sounds like the clutch got glazed...not uncommon with BMW clutches.
