That's incorrect. You are protected under the Magnusson Moss Warranty act which states that a dealer must prove that a specific modification is causing a said issue before refusing warranty service. This means that they cannot outright void the warranty because you have an aftermarket mod but must prove that for instance a blow off valve is causing engine problems.

Yes Nick, I verywell understand this.
Although, but BMW does stat that any engine mod, tune, ECU mod will void your warrenty.
But yes, you are correct, In order to actually void the warrenty they must prove it was a modification that caused the failure

They don't have to prove anything to you. They will deny the warranty knowing you will not spend twice as much fighting in court.

Yes this is true. BUT, it's your word over BMW's word, and unless your willing to get into a nasty legal battle, be sure to take off any aftermarket parts.

And by the way, the N54 engine was not created using a BOV, it was created using a diverter valve. The BOV will shoot all your stored pressure in the atmosphere while the DV will send the pressurized air back to the turbos creating more power. The stock DV adds 10hp, while a BOV would not. I've read in forums BOV caused cels to pop up in the N54 engine. So be careful.

I would reccomend you just get a new intake that increases air flow. Such as the BMS intake (only $130) then you will be able to hear your stock DV's just fine.

Edit: turn off your caps lock, its really irritating.
