Hey guys so to start off, my turbos were completely replaced under warranty 8k miles ago. I am running catless VRSF downpipes and VRSF exhaust. There is a rattle under light/medium acceleration in at least gears 1-4 up to around 3k RPM. I checked clearance on the downpipes and there is no contact.

When I had the stock downpipes, there was no rattle so it's definitely from the downpipes. Is there any tuning or anything I can do to reduce the rattle? It's getting really annoying driving around town rattling constantly.

Thanks

The best bet is to have it tuned out. Off the shelf Cobb maps rattled on accel for me but PTF tuned it out. The jb4 also eliminated the rattle.

Why does a jb4 get rid of it? Curious as to what it does to get rid of it. I'm running OFT now and have been thinking of going with a piggyback for a while now. If it can cure my rattle though, I'll definitely go for it

The wastegate position is changed. I am not sure if they are more closed or open at certain positions. It can be tuned out on a flash tune but by the time you pay for a tune you are better off just going with the jb4. Wedge may be able to help you.

Well here's my most recent datalog. Not sure if it shows anything about wastegates or not...

Is it the auto-tuning feature that the jb4 has that gets rid of it? As in I can simply plug it in and go and it'll be fixed? Seems too good to be true since I am already running a custom flash

In any map with the JB4 you can adjust the DWP I assume it is the default wastegate position and the base duty cycle from the steering wheel to adjust to get rid of the rattle. I really miss the simplicity of the jb4. It was a great tune and I almost regret switching to a flash tune.

Can those parameters be adjusted in the OFT?

I am sure they can. Wedge would be the one to talk to wedgeperformance@gmail.com. I am not sure what changes need to be made but it is possible to eliminate the rattle with a flash. The guys at PTF may point you in the right direction but not sure.

DOnt mean to steal this thread but i have been running the stock setting on jb4 and map 5 removed all backend flashes. With jb4 un installed i have no rattle even with my VRSF dp. With jb4 i have rattle on de acceleration at any gear and its super loud. The only way i don't have rattle is to put menu 10 on 1k rpm which is multiplied by 2, meaning default WG position 20. but that car drives weird and lags a lot when its on that. Anything else i can try?

I'm meeting a buddy of mine here who's a good tuner and he thinks he can help tune the rattle out but if that doesn't work I'm going to go back to the stock exhaust in hopes that the extra backpressure will reduce the rattle cause it's driving me insane since where I live, the speed limits are 25-35mph and usually traffic moves slowly so i spend all my time in the "rattle zone" of the rpm range.

I hope he can get it eliminated for you. Keep us updated. I do not know how people live with it. It drives me crazy.

Could it be that the downpipes themselves are rattling??

No it's definitely watergate rattling. I've triple checked my install and plus it does it on deceleration also.

Mine is fixed when i changed out my vacuum lines to the wastegate.
