Rob's prices are top notch for the work he does and I've yet to be disappointed.

that's a great price. Would have thought it would take more than 8-9 hrs to do all of that.
When I did mine and the misses it took me 3 days on each car.

I do it on the side every now and then and I charge £130 so its great value for what you get. Tbh my mate who did it every weekend used to charge £120 a day.

My car is going into my fav indy for a mop up. He quoted me £80 for 2 days.

I am not sure I would be happy paying BMW £120 for a paint correction. As that is something like and hour and half labour rate.

He came over this evening to have a proper look over the car (used an LED torch on various panels?). Had a close look at any scratches to see if they'd come out or not. Seemed confident he could make a big difference. Said he would start at 9am and would expect to finish at 7-8pm. Can't argue with value for money on just time even for a reasonable job. He is trying to get enough business to ditch the day job. Fair play to him I say.

I'll post some pics up when it's done (he takes full before and after shots and will send them to me).

HOWEVER

For what was quoted - if his car looks great I'd say go for it. Just be wary of whether he's doing things like taping up all the plastics and really taking the time. Also ask for some 50/50 shots of his work. Look for polish residue and burns in the plastic, and get an LED torch over the car he's done already to look for imperfections.

The price is great but if someone "goes to town" they an easily ruin your car. A full respray is £2k. Think about it.

I was quoted as a 2 day job if I remember correctly.

I paid £120 for an Enhancement on a different car. That's 1 day with a one stage machine cut.

Was perfect to my eyes even though in his it was only around 80%. It was also a lot cheaper as I know of the guy. Normally £180.

Just a suggestion...

...could be worth starting a thread with a list of 'recommended' detailers that people have used in the past.

Right, 11 hours later and I'm a happy man with a remarkably shiny E91! Really pleased with the work, massive value for money for £120.

Car was snow foamed, 2 bucket washed, cut with a rotary polisher (Megs 105 and 205), polished with Poorboys Black Hole, waxed and then finished with a detailing spray.

Sorry for the iPhone pics...

Here's a 50:50 shot during the cut - no need to mark the split!

Nice mate.

Definitely agree with a recommendation thread, not just for detainees but everything with services users use.

Looks good.

Blackhole is a great product as it hides some flaws.

For £120 and 11 hours work it is a good deal.

Over to you to take care of it now.
