That looks like her in the far distance. That is the first of three step downs for this lock. Sometimes they will zoom in on that step down and the view is really great.

What is great is they are having her take the lock closest to the camera. (at least it looks that way now.) That will give us a better view when she goes through. |

If they got my email (hopefully) they will zoom back when Aida gets into the lock and it gives us a great full view of her going through this step down. Also, check the hi-res camera view, too.

Yes, they got my email. This is a good view. You will see her up close. When she gets into the lock, look on the high res camera. You can almost see in the windows.

That's a great image. My computer doesn't capture them well. See the people in that photo standing in the windows of the ship?? That's a great camera view.
Well, she's off into the Pacific Ocean and will be off AIS radar in a couple hours. She'll reach SoCal in about six days. See you all then. |

Port Hueneme revised their calendar to show the AIDA arriving on the 25th! That's two days earlier than before. I might get my car next week!!!
http://www.portofhueneme.org/documen...0208083457.pdf Here's the latest WWL schedule, which is probably out of date. Last edited by demosthenes; 02-21-2008 at 10:56 PM.. |

It sure does. So it went from the 27th to the 25th and back to the 27th. It showed the 25th earlier this morning.

Does anyone know where the AIDA is? Sailwx hasn't shown a position for it since it was off the coast of Georgia. I watched it go through the Panama Canal. Is there any way to track it except AIS, which I think requires a subscription?
Thanks. |

The only trick I have found is to go back through this thread and look at the AIS maps I posted. See if there is a ship going through the canal system around the same time as AIDA and then look for that ship on Sailwx that is heading towards SoCal. I know over on the Asian Emperor page, I am doing just that. The Maersk Wind went through both lock systems at the same time as Asian Emperor and the Maersk Wind is now on Sailwx heading to SoCal. So, we can kind of guess that Asian Emperor is still sailing alongside Maersk Wind, as they both head for SoCal. I have used this trick before and it has worked perfectly. |

Thanks SPN. That's a great idea. I'll try it.
