yea but still for 12K + install, you could probably sell your car, and buy a 335, and chip it, thus being faster. (again, not to bring up the 335 issue)
If there was one for 5K I would maybe be interested. but this would be after my extended warranty runs out. almost seems too much to be worth the hassle. keep us updated on your idea though, im interested

I hope to hell HPF is coming out with something because this is ridiculous. They should have just said they would sell us a new motor with a harness for that price.

Last I heard from VF Engineering is they weren't interested in producing a supercharger for our cars because the development cost is too high and the return is not as great. They don't think they'll sell enough kits to break even. History has shown that those of us who purchase a "lower end model - i.e. not an M car" will not spend $6 or 7K on an aftermarket product. They would sooner develop a supercharger for an M3 than our cars.
These are their words, not mine.

Seems like a nobrainer... You should link arma back to this thread and show them how much fun is being made fun of them for their rediculous pricing. |

turbo
I have all pipe benders and a 90mm ball bearing turbo with blow off valve why cant i just put forged intenal rods and pistons and injector and build my own. A motor is a motor rather if its a n52 or a n54. IP already have stage 4 street clutch uuc short shifter and AFE cold air intake and. And get somebody to Dyno tune the car so im guessing for $5500.00 that with tune turbo piping intercooler etc. Why wouldnt i be able to do it?????

maybe you should study the engine and what material the engine is made of before you spend all the money on forged pistons/rods.
First you need to get a forged crankshaft to be able to handle high boost. Second you most likely would need custom darton sleeves to withstand the boost. Third, you better know a very well tuner who can custom tune your car. |

LRN2Read posts before him? He's not the first one who posted in that old topic.
And I found it interesting to know that they adjusted the price from 12k to 7k in less then a year.

I meant 8.8k; had that 12k in mind.

Get down to $6.5K installed, and you've got a deal. In Canada, the used price differences between the 335 and the 328 are still in the $8-10K range, $12K in my case since I got a great deal. Plus, some of us don't want to be stuck with a BMW turbo after 75K KM. |

Consider the following before purchasing any ARMA Supercharger kits for you vehicles.
1. The design is 20 years old. You need to constantly pump yellow grease to lubricate supercharger center shaft and bearings! Totally unreliable and noisy. Very easily to fail. Failed in my car 3 times in a year. They sent me bearings for free but I had to pay a lot for labor. 2. The company so called their US R&D office in Delaware is actually a “SHELL Company” which never exists. ( Already checked it with US business bureau ) 3. All their parts and tech support are made from Taiwan. Poorly designed and made by a bunch of back yard mechanics and so-called engineers hiding in Delaware R&D center which never exits, they fooled me when I purchased my kit. Another example of fake business wannabe. Supercharger units are poorly hand-made. 4. Their so called innovated-design Intercooler LEAKS! ( Tested in Water ) |
