Well I got my VIN and the W&W tracking website confirms Baltimore as my final destination. After some research it seems BMW entered into an agreement with Mercedes recently to process all of the Mid West area vehicles at their VPC in Baltimore. I was wondering why my car was being delivered there given that BMW doesn't have a VPC there. Anyway, I'm scheduled to be at the VPC this Friday, so I have my fingers crossed for a quick turnaround and delivery to MN. I'm getting excited now

Great news! Hope vpc goes without a hitch...you should have it in no time! If only mine would come out of production already!

This wait is torture! How soon after ordering did yours enter production? Mine started the next day, I guess I timed it well with one of the pre-booked slots the dealer had

I finalized the deal and the order went in on Saturday July 3rd. My vehicle went into production on Tuesday July 6th at 8:55am!

Monday July 12th, my CA emailed me my VIN number. The 1-800 number says my car is in the paint shop. Hopefully there is a lag and my car is done! I'm still holding out hope that my car makes the 7hr transport from Dingolfing to Bremerhaven by the 15th or 17th!!

My e93 is on the same boat - Fidelio. It arrives in NY tomorrow. I believe my dealer told me that the car will be at the dealership on Saturday. Will call to confirm again.

I'm so excited

You guys are really lucky!

I ordered from the biggest BMW dealership in Michigan and they said they had plenty of unsold cars in their allotment

My order was placed on 6/18 and then nothing, whatsoever, happened for the rest of June. It only started production on 7/1 and finished on 7/7

I'm going to be if my car doesn't make the 7/15 boat!

You can search the shipping schedules on the Wallenius Wilhelmsen website (I think BMW also utilizes another shipping company as well):

What status is your car in when you call the automated phoneline at: (800) 831-1117?

haven't phoned in yet today as I'm in meetings all day. But checked the owners site and the site says I am "awaiting transport."

So going with the logic that the site is a few days behind....I "should" be at the port by now!

This is really getting on my nerves! My production completed back on 7/7, yet my current status on (800) 831-1117 is "your vehicle production is complete and is waiting to be released to the carrier".

Is there a reason that 10 days isn't enough time for my car to be transported 5.5 hours north to Bremerhaven?????

I asked my CA about this and he just gave me some bumbling answer about how "he shares my anxiety about this order". While I know he can't control shipping schedules he CAN provide me with a coherent answer as to this slow process.

Any updates?

As of this morning the 1-800 number says that I am at the port awaiting a shipping vessel. I know that Owners Circle and the 800 number is on at least a 48 hour lag....so I am keeping my fingers crossed that I am already on a vessel headed to the US!

Now I'm just waiting for my CA to email me and confirm!

Anybody have any updates?

Also - does anybody know how I can enter my VIN number on the W&W website to see if my car made a ship?

Don't pay much attention to the 1-800 number or the website. I still get that my car is at the port awaiting a shipping vessel when W&W and my CA say it was dropped in Baltimore last Friday.

If you go to track & trace on the W&W website and enter your VIN in the box to the far right (cargo id I think is the label) you can get shipping information.

My CA emailed me last week and guessed 5 days once the vehicle is delivered to the port, so shorter than I was expecting!

Still "your vehicle production is complete and is waiting to be released to the carrier"!!!

It is now going on two weeks since my car finished production and it is just sitting around somewhere. This is completely ridiculous!

Did you call your CA and ask for an update? Their tracking system is much more accurate. The online and 1800 number are both pretty useless.

With the amount of ships moving through Bremerhaven there is no reason you should be sitting that long!

My CA emailed me to let me know that my vehicle is sitting at the port awaiting a shipping vessel. I'm hoping there is some kind of lag in their system as well as my vehicle was completed on the 13th at the latest.

Hopefully I made either the Talisman that left on the 16th or the Patriot that left yesterday on the 18th!

Jack - don't worry.....I've read through so many tracking threads that had many many many frustrated owners awaiting delivery. Almost every single time, they were informed later on that they did in fact make an earlier vessel than they anticipated. Just because your CA doesn't tell you or the 800 number doesn't say so.....doesn't mean you're not on a boat yet! I would think you would have at least made the Talisman on Friday. There is typically a lag of a few days once you are loaded on a ship right?

I say you get shipping confirmation in the next few days! Hopefully I am not too far behind!

Wow thats weird. I put the order in on June 11th, 2010 and i took delivery on July 19th, 2010.. about 5 weeks later. I was following the car pretty closely and it finished production around the 6/24 and went en-route around 7/4 or so. I was using the Owners circle to track so it is most likely delayed by 24/48hours.

Either way, your almost there!

2+ weeks is not unusual. The "carrier" referred to is not the truck to port, but the ship. Look at Bremerhaven with Google Earth. You will see literally thousands of cars all waiting their turns to get on board.

I would be completely fine with this wait if that was truly the case. However, I'm apparently NOT waiting my turn but rather being kept behind newer orders. This is really getting on my nerves.

Limmerfest ordered on 7/3 and has already made it onto a transatlantic boat. oomikeyboy ordered a week ahead of me, but received the car WAY more than a week ahead of when I'll get mine. (Note: I'm not mad at you guys, but rather at this awful shipping system!)

The next boat that leaves Bremerhaven with a stop in Baltimore is the Texas, which leaves on 7/26 and won't reach the States until 8/7!!!

Well, if my timeline is anything to go by, your car will miss even the Fidelio (let alone the Elektra or Don Pasquale). Best of luck to you!

Yeah I won't see the car until October lol! But on a serious note, I read your posts and I believe the shipping information is just lagging WAY behind. Did you try calling your dealer to get the VIN and also ask them when they expect the car???
