BMW Fairfax Damaged Bumper

Took my car into BMW fairfax a few weeks back for some cpo service and an alignment. They changed the fuel pump and wastegate actuators under cpo. When I went to pick up the car, I got there and they said that it started running rough while washing it before delivery and that a drive belt had broken and that they needed another hour. The SA then came back minutes later and said the power pusher device they used to push the car damaged my front bumper. I got the car back and to my eye the paint does not match. It looks fine close up, but at a distance it looks much lighter than the rest of the car. How does it look to you guys? Not sure if I loaded this picture correctly. It seems to look ok in direct sun but off in overcast weather.

I took it back today because of a couple imperfections. I didn't mention the paint match issue but will email the service rep to address.

that looks horrendous. It's very clearly a different color/finish/something. Does not look right. Take it back and make them do it perfectly. I'll bet they have a couple of guys in a van with masking tape and paint materials doing it the parking lot - trust me on this. Make them take it to a reputable shop, e.g. wagonworks or something so that it's matched correctly.

Interesting,

had the same thing happen to me at FFX, where they bumped/scratched my rear bumper. They took it to the BMW of FFX Body Shop across the street and fixed it, repainted the whole bumper.

I didn't have any issues at all, and it looked fine to me.

sorry yours didn't turn out as such.

not defending the stealership, but silver is a very hard color to match...plus youll get a slightly different color from metal to plastic....id take it back to them

What about "blending" the paint into the fenders? I've heard mixed things about this. I'd rather them not touch the OEM paint. I'm going to ask them to redo the entire thing, not just fix the small imperfections I noticed. They have my car, I dropped it off today.

Fairfax sucks. You need to find a new dealership to go to.

With a bumper job, they shouldnt have to blend anything. They should get it right this time.

Yep, I won't go back to fairfax based on this awful experience. I'll probably use Bmw of Silver Spring. I live in Bethesda.

After round 2 turned out equally bad, I took the car back last week so that the "paint rep" could check out the job. He said my clear bra made the oem paint look darker than the repainted bumper. What a crock of... Aside from the paint match issue the paint is full of imperfections like clear coat run. The paint has already starting chipping in several places. I don't know if I have any recourse. I will probably have it repainted at a legit shop like EuroPros to preserve resale value.

I would never in my life buy/deal with this dealership. During my research to buy a car I had the worst experience dealing with this dealership.

It pains me to see people take their cars to FFX. It's well documented across several forums that they don't give a crap about our cars

Honestly, I never had much of a good experience with any of the three dealerships I went to in this area. Pretty sure fairfax scratched my car when they replaced the fuel pump, and Passport and Alexandria refused to adknowledge the wastegate rattle and steering creak in my car, saying they 'couldn't replicate the noise'. Pretty much proves to me that BMW as a whole doesn't really care much about the customers.

No matter where you get that bumper painted the paint will never be the same as the original.. youll get more rock chips now because of the paint job

and passport is horrible with repair work... had to go back 3 times for one fix and it still wasnt 100%
