Anyone dealt with Sytner Chigwell Mini?

As the title says, we're looking for a Mini Countryman Cooper S all 4 for my missus.

Found a nice one at Sytner Chigwell.

Apart from the no doubt shiny suited 18 year old gotcha' geezer 'init Essex boy salesman, anything else to watch out for?

Also, paid for several Glass's valuations and they are showing book dealer sale prices about £3k MORE than the sticker price on several minis.

I.e. sticker 19k, glass's price 22k.

Any ideas?

Copper S Countryman would not be a big seller so I would hit them mega hard with a shocking offer.

Maybe a slow time for sales coming up with summer and new reg so a flood of part exchanges about to come in so maybe want to cleardown existing stock in preparation for that.

(I used to love August 1st and playing 'spot the new car' ..... not the same now its moved to twice a yr.)

As I have found out to my cost, Minis are over priced and over rated. You will lose a shed load of cash buying a new or nearly new one, unless there is a mega discount, especially the countryman, which is not at the top of many people's list of what constitutes a nice car!

We've got previous here.

The wife had an 05 cooper a few years back, she loved it and it held its value very well over the 3 yrs, bought it 18 months old. It was 100% reliable and a hoot to drive.

An average spec cooper S all-4 has a list of say 26k, but they're up for 17/18/19after 6 months at dealers, but the same at 18/24 months are at 15/16k.

Agree the countryman models are a bit marmite, but we had a loaner and TBH it was great. I was happy to drive it, whereas the 2 door, IMO, was definitely a 'chicks' car...

Colour and trim is a big decider, but they're as big (bigger?) than a golf inside, huge boot, 4 doors, great fun to rag down the lanes.

4wd makes it a winner for us being in the sticks, with a set of winter tyres on it will be something else. (it means I can have the E63 and she has the bad weather car instead of me having to have a wobbling chelsea chariot).

Agree, we need a good deal though, looking at about 1 year old to keep for 4 or 5.

Sytner Chigwell seemed ok when I had to deal with them. To be honest, now is the perfect time to go in and make a sensible but firm offer. End of the month so salesmens are usually looking to strike a deal to meet their targets. I've always bought cars end of the month and always managed to get a stonking deal. If you are interested and all checks out, make a firm offer and don't budge. If they can't get to it walk away. They usually will call you back if they want to shift it. As others have said the Countryman is not exactly the most sought after, so all the more reason to get a good deal. I've driven two Countrymans (one was a Cooper SD) and I to some extent, preferred it over the standard Mini.

Good luck!
