335is Makes List of Potential Future Collectible Cars
CNN Money and collector car experts at Hagerty Insurance has compiled a list of the 10 cars it believes may be sought after collectibles in the future. The 335is is the only current BMW to make their list.

I don't think it will be a collecitble. Not many BMWs have made it to true collector status, and there have been many more special attempts in the past.
They must not have truly meant "collectible". "More sought after" maybe, but there's no true "collector" aspect to the "is", as good as it is. |

Seriously? I would have thought the e90 M3. Think about it, M3, four doors, NA V8 motor with ~414HP. That pretty much sets it alone in BMW's line up. The only other M-4 door is the M5 and that will always have 4 doors.

Only cars I see to continue to grow in value are
1) supra 2) diablo SV 3) acura NSX (hate the car, but 91 going for $40,000+ is silly) |

considering the honda crz is on the list, this list means nothing.
i can name 9 collector cars that are 2010 models that are superior to anything on that list - Ferrari 458 Italia - Porsche GT2RS - Mercedes SLS - Lexus LFA - Dodge Viper ACR - Lamborghini Reventon - Cayman R - 911 GT3RS - E92 M3 - assuming that bmw does not go back to n/a motors - sort of like porsche moving from air cooled to water cooled from 993-996. last of a dying breed -

what a stupid list. are they on crack or the collectable factors are based on the wracking rate? even a G37 is on there, LOL!
the only one i think will make it is the Boxster Spyder. |

I think I understand the list now and how they are "collector" cars: think 94 325is M-Tech (not worth more than an M3, but worth quite a bit more than a regular 325is). They are not looking for all out exotics, but more what the average joe will have in his garage 20 years from now.
There is no argument that a 335is will be worth quite a bit more and be more desirable than a regular 335i. Think e46 ZHP as well as e30 or e36 M Tech. |

LMAO
Did BMWNA give Hagerty Insurance some $$ to say that or what? The 335is e9x is basically the replacement for the ZHP e46's. I own a ZHP, love the hell out of it, but I don't see it as a "collectors car." I doubt I'll ever sell it or trade it, but I don't see it ever appreciating in value. I don't see the 335is e9x's doing that either... and LMAO at the guy that called it "The Ultimate Leasing Machine." I hadn't heard that before, I love me some BMW, but I'll be getting some mileage off of that...
