Question service 1 needed...any good shops in OC?

I recently went to a shop in Tustin, Ca called Automax...
my car, 2006 330i was due for what they told me was the "service one"... which was oil change, filters, and spark plugs.
Total cost was quoted somewhere around $800-900 if I remember corerctly.

This was right before christams and I was a little tight on cash so I just opted for the oil change and delayed the rest of the items needed

The time has come to finish the service, and I was curious if anyone knows of a shop in OC that is priced right, knowledgeable...and priced right

I had always gone to the dealership but as of the last year its been off warranty and need a place I can TRUST.

Nothing against AUTOMAX I just have nothing to compare them to...

Do you have an E46? An Inspection I for that model runs around $400.
Do you have an E90? There is no Inspection I.

I've never heard of a "service one" - there used to be an Inspection I for E46 models. If your '06 is a 2 door, I believe it is an E46, otherwise it's an E90.

But neither one requires plugs until 100,000 miles -unless you have a turbo 335i.

If you read your Warranty/Service Manual and check your owner's manual under "Service Requirements", you can find out from your car's computer which service are due.

I think you would be much better off at a dealer.

When I lived in Huntington Beach, I used to go to Autowerkes on Talbert. They do excellent service without trying to oversell.

Soo I was way off, should have looked at the service invoice before I POSTED

What I actually need is the Inspection 2, which cover spark plugs, filters etc...

im kinda affraid to attempt on my own, would feel better taken it to a knowledgeable shop.

Thanks agin for your feedback on this matter...

It's been a couple of years so I don't remember the exact amounts other than it was very reasonable considering that it was a BMW and compared to the stealership. I had oil changes and some other work done by them.

The owner and mechanic were very personable and I felt very comfortable with their assessments.
