there is actually a member on here who tinted part of his lights on a e92. Look it up in the DIY section, he also did the side markers

Here are my pics. I have all of my lights and my reflectors smoked out and I love it! I used the smoked film and my tint shop did the install for me.

I've been just lucky so far. I've also only had my baby since March of this year and had the lights smoked the weekend after I got it. The cops in my area are really relaxed when it comes to tinted windows and smoked out lights. It really just depends how strict they are where you live/work.

It actually doesn't affect the light output AT ALL. I thought it might and I wouldn't keep it on if it did. That's a huge safety concern. I would find an alternative if that was the case. The smoked film is different than window tint film. With my DRLs on, you can kinda tell they're smoked but, light output is fine. At night, it's also kinda hard to tell they're smoked. I'll have to take more pics with the lights on so you can see what the hell I'm talking about

Hope these give you a better idea how they look with DRLs and headlights on. First three pics taken without flash. All pics were taken in my garage.

The only problem I've had with them is that right in front of the headlight, there's a small spot where it's slightly bumpy and looks like it's melting. This happened the night I had them done and it hasn't gotten any worse since. It's not very noticeable and it's not enough to bother me. It's pretty much impossible to get a clear pic of it - I tried!
