iDrive functionality

Just wanted to know if i could get all my album's/song's up onto a 2006 iDrive system and go through them simply.?

Put them on a USB stick (socket is in the glove box, rh side) and upload them to the cars hard drive.
If their properly labelled/marked before uploading them, they should appear as such.

So you can do this with a iDrive in a 2006 e90? I thought maybe that was a function on the new bmw's.
Is their a way of getting a ipod connected in a similar way?

Ahh sorry Candy, I was thinking of how I do it, and my car is younger than a 2006 model.
Someone will be along to confirm or not.

I've not tried an Ipod, but I'm sure you can do it either with OEM equpment or aftermarket stuff.

Nope is the simple answer.
You can burn a DVDROM and place them in subfolders.
But its limited of course, or do the same with a CDROM.

Would i be able to fit a usb cable to a 2006 Idrive? Would the songs come up in folder format on the idrive or in a massive long list of songs?
