they say it has no interference at all with comfort access, sat radio, and navi. also huper optik says it can block out more uv rays without going too dark. it supposedly keeps the car cooler. i was considering huper optik as well, but the pricing was way more than what i wanted to spend on tint.

see i don't have comfort access, sat radio or navi so i think ceramic wouldn't be a good investment for me.

+1. I think that pretty much covers its advantages. Not sure how much more effective it is.

They did a good job on my dot matrix, but I learned from a post on the M3 forum that the best way to do it is to put black tape over it.

Precision Tinting
Quoted prices for e92:
-Regular tint ($170)
-Premium tint ($200)
-Huper Optik ($350)

i think the one in orland park actually quoted like 365-385 for the huper optik. i didnt know they carried other types of tint. i still suggest you talk to nino from umbra window tinting.

i just called umbra- they quoted 180. they said they carry 3 different types of tint but didn't really specify if it was regular, premium, huper optik, or ceramic. their located in schaumburg which isn't too bad. i might check them out too. let me know which one you go to, maybe we can get a better deal if we bring two cars in.

i'm planning on doing 35% all over or 35% sides and 20% back.

I believe the premium is metallic. As I understand it, there are 3 types of tint (from least to most expensive)

Dyed plastic
Metallic
Ceramic

The dyed plastic fades over time. The metallic tint does not fade, but it contains metal that may cause electronic interference (including CA and possibly radar detection). Ceramic does not fade nor interfere with electronics because it doesn't contain any metal. It also offers better UV protection, and it consequently keeps the interior cooler. Only downside to ceramic is that it's tougher to work with (less malleable, which makes it more difficult to get the dot matrix perfect) and that it takes longer to dry (bubbles take longer to dry out).

Not sure that's it, but you might want to give them a call. I thought they did an excellent job.
