Yep, agree great car. Coil packs changed twice under warranty. So still get warranty every year. Got money back on the mech-a-tronic oil leak last year fixed under warranty. Car likes to be pushed. 57 plate N53. Love it!

Yikes acerboo, that's some list. Mine's been reasonable with only a replacement battery, 1 rear wheel under warranty, and most recently a repaired dsc unit. Not bad in 80k.

Another one here, I have a pre facelift N53 engined SE touring auto. I'm a high mileage driver (bought it with 18k up 3 years ago, it's about to hit 100k) but I love a 6 cylinder NA petrol engine. Mostly used on motorways, I generally average 34-35 mpg but it's on 36.6 since I put the winter tyres on a month ago.
As a combination of superb refinement, ride quality (I downgraded to 17's), decent economy and running costs yet great handling and a lovely engine, it's hard to beat. I really struggle working out what to replace it with. Normally at this point - 3 years of ownership - I would change but I think I'll run it another 18 months at least. I had some repetitive issues with coils and plugs failing 2.5 years ago, and the auto gearbox oil leak (common to many auto BMW's) but nothing since. On the size I run tyres are just over £100 for premium non-RF and while new discs and pads all round smarted a bit, they made it to well over 70k miles so I won't be doing that again. I'm even still using a BMW main dealer as the service and prices have been better than expected. It's even converted my wife, anti-BMW before, to the brand and she wants an X1 next (which is based on a 3 series touring chassis). It's just a shame they only just started making petrol X1's - I may buy new as a result. |

1500 rpm is pretty low down for a n/a petrol. What fuel are you running?

Nope didn't own a diesel.
1500rpm isn't that low - should be able to load it up from 1000rpm with no issues but on mine it just stops until the gearbox decides to drop it a gear. |

Sounds a bit odd to me. Mine's a manual and will happily pull from under 1000rpm with no hesitation. Pulls surprisingly strongly from 1500rpm.

No hesitation on mine. All my various V6 and straight 6 petrols have pulled happily from below 1000 revs - in fact when I drive diesels I tend to find them disappointing at very low revs compared with a big NA petrol!

Out if interest, what coolant temperature does everyone here get on the 330i? Haven't checked for a while but was around 113 in traffic a few months ago. Heard high temps were normal so didn't give it much thought but I'm not 100% convinced. Any thoughts?

E91 330i Pre-LCI here. How did you check the temp? I find my engine runs very hot quite quickly, but the coolant temp indicator is fine. Always wondered if all 330i ran the same way.

Hi Guys,
I did not realise that there are a fair few 330i owners on here. I ask you all to shed some light on to my thread please. I am out in the market for either a 330i and or 335i both petrol /manual. The 335i owners have given me a fair bit of information already regarding both but of course more so on the 335i. This is the thread : http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=941838 Thanks J |

Me too - picked up my 2007 pre LCI E91 at the start of July. My car was pretty well loaded with options from the factory but I have already added OEM Bluetooth and DAB radio.
I had a hesitation at low RPM that was cured with a new intake air temp sensor, and a leaking headlamp washer unit. Fantastic car, just have to stop worrying about the fuel gauge! Chris |

I like my 330i, had and e46 330d before that was mapped, and I miss the torque, but to be fair, the noise of the 330i is very nice. Once on the move, and in the revs, the 330i is ok, but I do still miss the torque of the d, especially when joining a motorway via an uphill slip road etc, the d used to just fly with 265bhp and 440 ftlbs torque.
