Watching DVD while in 'park' for manual?

07 335i

Im aware that you can actually watch a DVD while in park/standstill etc with no problems is this correct?

ive heard once you shift it into D it shuts the screen off.

Is this the same for MT? What is the process, do you put it in 1st gear and it shuts off for example.

Reason being is that I havent got my baby back yet, will be a good few weeks.

This can be fixed with coding, I have been informed, so you will be able to drive while watching a movie.

In manual it's based on when the vehicle start moving. IIRC the DVD will play even if a gear is selected. (With manual transmission parking with a gear selected is the norm). But once the car starts moving the video cuts out to the warning screen while audio resumes.

This is brilliant! Now I could watch the jersey shore, drive, and fist pump at the same time.

watching a dvd on the idrive screen is very underwhelming. The screen letterboxes the movie so it ends up being very small. If you want to watch a movie, buy a tv. Your 335 was made to be driven.

I have an 07 MT with idrive and TV. Never tried a DVD but the TV only works when the handbrake is on.
