Oil leaks

Wondering what the common places are for oil leaks on an N54? Got a fairly substantial leak (topping up oil every few weeks) and kinda getting sick of it. I have already stopped oil from oil filter housing and a breather at the back of the motor, any other common points for a leak?
Car is also blowing a fair bit of smoke under boost, turbos on their way our??

How did you stop oil leaking from the oil filter housing? Do you mean you replaced the seal?

Got a pic of where the leak is coming from? General area whereabouts? Top of engine? Front of engine? LHS? RHS?

With my smoking RBs I was topping up oil every few weeks. If there is no obvious leaks it may be your smokey turbos. On the upside means you can splash out for aftermarket turbos lel

The leak is coming from the rear of the motor, I am think valve cover gasket is leaking or the valve cover itself is cracked...

It is time for a turbo upgrade socks... wastegate rattle is getting annoying...

Yeah could be VCG! Have you checked it's not coming from OFHG and trickling down?

It was before but no more leaks from there, I am heading to Melbourne in a few weeks so ill leave it at my mates workshop for the week and he can sort it for me, just deciding whether to get a VCG before I go just in case...

Probably should get the valve cover too aye?

Nah don't go purchasing a VC without knowing for sure it's cracked! They're like $450 new. I know harms has one up for $50 atm, could get that if you really want? VCG itself should be no more than $50

Oil pan gasket (and less common the rear main seal) are also potential oil leak areas, if it's coming from "rear of the motor".

But sounds like leaky turbos if it's smoking under boost.

When I replaced the breather they said that there was a fair bit of oil at the back of the motor so im going to assume VCG, can't hurt to change it either way though...

Next will be new turbos...

So turns out it could be the rear right corner of the head gasket leaking... anyone heard of this happening before?

Head gasket failures are extremely rare, most likely a misdiagnosed valve cover leak.
