189 Wheels...done differently

As far as I can tell, I'm the first one around here to do this to my 189's.

They were pretty beat up when I got them and I figured I'd do something a little different this season.

white primer>gloss white (x3)>metallic flake>clear coat (x2)

center cap rings got gloss black with metallic flake and clear.

I know haters 'gon hate, but I LOVE them! Whatcha think?

Definitely different. You love them, I think that's the only thing that really matters.

You're one brave man, white wheels on space gray. I'm totally not feelin' it, but it's your car and you can do whatever you want to it. Btw, you car is screaming for some color matched reflectors. Have fun with it.

looks great! excellent idea, but would be a far better match on alpine white or silver or blue car.

Pictures don't really do it justice...everyone who's seen them in person says they look awesome. Maybe they're lying to me, but they're just the stockers and in either case they were beat up before and look brand new now.

Everyone else does flat or gloss black so, instead of following suit, I figured I'd do something that nobody else has.

My plan is to get some TE37's or some Advan RS-1's, but until then, I'll continue to freak people out with these snowballs.

There should be an unwritten law against making a BMW look like it came from a ghetto.

^ Don't be a moron.

White wheels can be awesome, but it's tough to pull off with an OEM wheel.

I don't care if people hate them, but I wouldn't go as far to say the car looks like it's from a "ghetto". That's just an ignorant statement.

EVERYONE else does black, that's boring and over-rated. The wheels needed some TLC so I figured I'd do something different; and it's not like I did a shotty job, everyone who sees them assumes they were powder coated.

Also, my friends/family who hated on the idea in the first place admitted that they looked great after I finished. It's really something that needs to be seen in person.

I'm a big fan of white wheels on white cars... If you decide to sell them in the near future let me know.

I made the thread a few days ago. This is my first time with white wheels on a car, but it definitely is unique. I has some gunmetal TSW Nurburgrings, but they just weren't doing it for me. So, until I find wheels that I really like, and half the BMW population doesn't have, this is my substitution.

***EDIT*** I just saw the plasti-dip job...now that looks bad. I actually removed the wheels, prepped and stage painted them with primer, gloss white, clear flake and clear wheel coating. I also didn't paint my tires. So to answer your question MRRwheels, no that wasn't me.

Wait did you get a ticket for having those wheels?? JP JP i actually like them but i totally get what you mean about wheels. I've seen pictures of forum members wheels and see them in person and its way different. Just like the F30 looks ugly in pictures but in person is a lot better.
