I'm gonna stick my oar in here too.

Vettel should have to sit the next race out. They have Buemi, and he should race in Shanghai, he knows how to drive the car, and if it's all about 'the team' then I can't see how Red Bull have any excuse not to do this.

They won't of coarse, because almost everyone in the team is a licky brown nose to golden boy, arsehole Vettel (as evidenced by this thread.) However, I could see that Horner and Mateschitz are losing patience in the spoilt brat.

People say Vettel can't race, that's not true, he's a very good driver. However he is NOT as good as he thinks. He could do nothing in an off pace red bull early last year, he HAS to have a good car. Now I hated Alonso for many years, but he's growing on me, as he is clearly the most rounded racing driver in F1, he can drag a shocking car to a win, and seems too get results in not the best car, most weekends.

Oh, and the reason Carl can't comment is because he is in love with Vettel, (indeed any German driver) and he knows we'll all gang up on him, when he tries to defend the tool!

I'm not sure on the whole Nico/Hamilton thing, I think I would rather have seen Nico on the podium.

The days of any sport being for the fans are long gone,it's all about the money, and how much big business can screw over Joe Public.

Telling anyone to hold back and let some other twat win a race is never going to be a winning formula in any respect.

It's a bit like a mate telling you to not score with the bit of skirt you've just pulled, because the no hoper hasn't dipped his cock for month's on end,and he wants to jump in on your blag,it's a 'jog on Pal' scenario!

Spill Carl,you Pussy

Oh come on! That's a bit like saying Golf is all about the grass when you're the groundsman!!

'Everyone' inside F1 is about 0.001% of the total global viewers. The numbers involved in F1 are miniscule compared to the paying public.

500 people per team (your figure) x 11 teams = 5500 people versus 500,000,000 viewers per GP.

To 99% of spectators it's an indvidual sport, where the star drivers need some 'assistance' from the background staff

+1, but you would at least hope they could pretend it was about winning, instead of giving a great big birdie to every fan in the world in one go. arses.

500M viewers per GP? Really? or is that total views over the season. I don't believe that 500M individual people around the world watch each GP. That would probably be enough to make F1 the most popular sport in the world?

Formula One global television broadcast viewing figures fell slightly last year, down from 515 million worldwide in 2011 to just over 500 million last year.

Yeah but what does that figure mean? I saw an article early that said 30M people in the UK watched it last year. Now on a race weekend I know that only about 4M people watch a race!

Seems like 500M means might have watched any one race in the season, or been in a pub, or currys where they had a TV on showing F1!

Yeah, sorry, my mistake, thats the annual figure.

I just googled "how many watch f1" and 500M+ popped up.

So about 30M+ per race?

Think you missed the point, people involved in F1 are not overly fussed about the WDC. The WDC does not bring in the money for the team's the WCC does.

Quite how many people who watch it changes how the teams feel is lost on me. Maybe i am missing the point, confused now

In my humble opinion Vettel is a Teutonic Twat.
F1 is already unbelievably boring without team orders making it even more so.
Re-introduce refuelling (nowt like a flaming car for a bit of a spectacle), legalise oil dispensers on the rear of the cars and allow the drivers to throw tacks out of the cockpit.
Sharpened blades rotating on the wheels would be good, as would a boxing glove on a long stick.
As for vettel, he should be tied to the rear of Webbers car and taken for a 20 lap drag around the circuit before being placed in a barrel of salt.

If he knew me Im sure he would do so! However I still think hes a twat.
He needs sorting out. At the very least he should be made to sit in the naughty chair. I would probably go one further and give him a hundred lines.

Sorry, what I mean is, with all due respect , who on the outside is bothered what those involved inside F1 are concerned about? They're the (allbeit very important) cogs in the machine that drive the F1 bandwagon for the enjoyment of the 500M+ global spectators, and therefore drive the money in from there.

My point was that the vast majority are outside F1 and want drivers to win, so it really needs to be made to appeal to those expectations if it doesn't want to disappear up it own backside.

I fully agree. F1 insiders should take more interest in the views of the 'customer'. We may not have the technical knowlege and skills but without the spectators there would be no sponsorship and without the sponsorship it would all fall apart.

Teams do care about the public and putting on a show for them, my original point stands though that for the teams, the drivers championship is not important. For the drivers it is and for the fans of the drivers.

I get that..all the more reason why Vettel should have shown a bit of team loyalty. By the way, next time you speak to him tell him from me that his mum cooks a lousy breakfast.
