Storage Compartment Pack(493)

Hi (first post)

Could someone please tell me what the Storage Compartment Pack consists of ?

Both the Irish and UK BMW sites only show a cup holder.

I've recently ordered my first BMW - 320d SE/Montego Blue/Lemon Dakota/Anthracite headlining/Sports steering wheel/Rain sensor.

I might be able to add a couple more options, hence the question

thanks

Don't you also get the door pockets which fold out, as opposed to fixed? Think that's true on an E92, no?

I ordered my E91 with 493. It comes with storage nets on the back of the front seats and 2 12v power supply in the rear centre console. I wanted the two power points so the kids wouldn't argue when they both needed to have their Gameboys on charge.

Hi, I think the option differs for the various models, i.e. the pack contents are not the same for E90/E91/E92.

I have ordered this on my E92 (yet to be delivered) and I think it includes:

- Nets on the back of the front seats
- A 12V power point in the luggage compartment
- Various nets/underfloor storage divider/bag hook etc in the luggage compartment

Thinks that's it - only cost £45 though.

The E90 has two versions one of which costs £210 and includes a sliding drawer in the boot etc.

Sorry can't be more specific, I'm someone will be along in a minute who knows for sure.

Looking to fit 12v accessory socket into boot

Hi,
I'm looking to fit a 12v accessory socket into the boot of my e90 (So that I can plug a cool box in on our trip to france!).

Has anyone done this and is it easy enough to do? As its an option I was wondering if the wiring was already there somewhere?

cheers
Dan

On the E92 the battery is in the boot so very easy to fit an addiitional socket in the boot.

And I believe the fold-out door pockets are only on the e92 due to the extra length of the doors.

Yes, they are a nice design touch - and useful too. You can store surprisingly bulky objects in there.

I think I need the nets for the front footwell on the passenger side... anyone know the part no? Will see if the dealer can sell it to me for a decent price.

As the storage is very limited compared to my old Mazda6.

The Storage pack on the E92 gives you: 6 slots on the floor of the boot into which clips on a stretchy net fit for holding down smallish items.

You get a 12v socket on the left side of the boot with a spring mounted door - which only works when the ignition or engine is on. You also get a small net on the right handside at the wheel arch and a small band on the left hand side for holding small things. Above the toolkit you get a hinged hook which allegedly will hold a shopping basket.
Almost a bargain by BMW standards!

Anyone got the hinged shopping bag hook to work? Flipped, up, down or otherwise doesn't hold a thing.
Jamming a takeaway bag over the whole bracket seems to do the trick, but leaves a hinged flap doing not much at all.

I have this as an option S493A for my 320i Lci and can't for the life of me work out what it includes as they removed the nets on the lci and apart from cupholders there is bugger all storage!

Anyone with an idea?
