sorry to hijack but im interested too - have a few chips on bonnet/bumper which id like sorting out

i presume SMART repairs are not recommended?

I've used and would def recommend Northbank Garage which is just off M5 J5 near Droitwich.

Not sure they do smart repairs or not but proper paint and fit jobs they are excellent. Customer service is superb too, plus they were the cheapest by me by far. So no brainer.

I had smart repairs done on my old z4 and would not recommend it for anything that needs paint. Eventually succumbed to needing to paint properly and then it reacted. Needed new bumper in the end. Luckily wasn't paying as was through AUC.

On other hand my dad had quite a nasty dent pulled and it was like magic.

So I'd sum up as painting no way never again. Dents yes.

Minor chips of course I wouldn't worry with smart repairs. The dodgy work on the old car was slightly more than they should have attempted

I can recommend D&R Services at Spring Hill Industrial Park, Arley, Nr Coventry 01676 541569 (opposite Jacksons Camping). Ive had several cars repaired and resprayed there, all to a very high standard. They also do car restoration work - seen a Stag and a Sabre there having lots spent on them by their owners.

I also had extensive insurance work done at Sytner Accident Repair Centre at Oldbury - I was very pleased with the result but it did cost the insurer £17K.

can recommend Wyndon Motors Accident Repair Centre, just north of Coventry. Not cheap but if my BM ever needs work it's where it will go.
