I think that's exactly what I am having. So I guess that's the best we can get off street pumps.

One safety feature that I think it would be easy to implement by flash tuners would be to increase the amount of timing advance being pulled in case the detonation sensors detect cylinder activity. Instead of the stock 3 degrees, it could be like 5 degrees at a time. It would be felt more inside the cabin probably, but it would save the engine. Or at least this is what I am thinking. That is, if the reverse engineering status permits

By the way, what is the maximum timing that will be run for the race map ? I have never seen off-the-shelf tunes running more than 14 degrees, and Cobb runs like 11-12 for the Stage2+ map. I suppose the race gas map will run more than 11 but less than 14 ?

Race mapping is something I am targeting to be out by the end of March in BETA form. This will be for use with "pump" race fuel and/or those with meth. We will not have a safety mechanism built in for flow failures, however the timing being run is not as aggressive as other tunes out there.

Cheers,
Rob
Rob will the new maps fix the 3krpm pause?

Thanks

the stg 2+ maps will be smoother and more power. these are different than the stg 2+ FMIC maps....which are just going to be smoother according to Rob's post. btw...i'm not complaining at all...i've been pretty happy with the power the stg 2+ fmic agressive maps deliver.

Why am I asking these questions ? Because I really don't want to move from GIAC to Cobb and be stuck with some less-than-ideal maps. Right now the GIAC is just perfect (but with less power than I think it can be extracted), and I would expect the same if I switch.

I am laughing because i just answered Bash by copy and paste what Rob had already stated. I dont run low power maps right now , i am testing big turbos stuff .

I also dont have this boost issues people are reporting. My boost is nice at all rpm.

Yeah, in the same respect, i came from Dinan stage 2 and it was 100% refined and smooth. That being said, i don't mind a little roughness for the extra power that Cobb provides.

Definitely don't switch. If you read that much into a simple copy/paste reply and fill in the blanks by mind reading, I can only imagine how extra annoying you'd be if the new maps didn't pet you as you fell asleep. You're the type of high maintenance customer that makes me shudder.

I've never experienced any issues with smoothness or otherwise with the public Cobb maps at all. And believe me, if I had issues I'd say something.

Read the codes and post them, sounds like a boost leak

I had terry check my car there was no leak. He stated that it might have been the map being too aggressive for the elevation we were in. I turned the car off and turned it back on and the code was gone.

If you would be so kind, grab the codes for me if this happens again. The 3100 code will be thrown if another system requests limp mode and cuts pressure. Meaning there might be something else tripping the 3100.

Cheers,
Rob

I have a quick question for those that can help me out....from what i understand if we use 91 gas in Cali, Cobb prefers us to use "drive"...and for "sport" or "aggressive" we need to use a higher octane gas...how about NV...is it ok to run "sport" on their 91....asking because ill be headed to vegas and i kinda wanna get a feel for how sport and aggressive is like...my car is bone stock except for the Cobb AP

Does nevada use ACN 91 octane? If it's "real" 91 octane, try sport and see how the logs look.
