335i Dyno Results
Just got back from the dyno...306.26rwhp!
I think that's pretty good. Is that about par for just a JB+ and DCI? I was around 100deg today too... Can anyone tell me what the crank hp would be? The sensor that measures torque was broken though, so any idea where I'd be based on the hp number? Also, he was not able to keep the car from downshifting to get a really good reading. Is there any way around that? Tried using paddles and it still shifted when he stomped it.

Numbers dont mean much without a baseline. I feel like every dyno thread we have to mention this..... Anyway, as long as you enjoy the car that's all that really matters.
If you ever feel the need for more power Jb4 is calling your name |

I put the jb+ in a while ago... I just went today to see where it was at. The guy usually does imports and I forgot to tell him about the kickdown...
what have you guys put down? similar? I'm thinking of turning up to100% and going back. it's at about 60% now. Will i have to drive for a while to notice, like i did when i put it in?

Sorry, I don't mean any disrespect, but you're wasting your time. Most people on this forum run JB4, Cobb, or Procede to name a few. Procede is making over 400 RWHP with 50/50 E85 on a car with only DCI. From the looks of the graph you provided, I would take it back and ask for my money back. I hope you didn't pay much for that because the person running the dyno didn't know what they were doing.
As for your tune, I'm sure the JB+ is good for 30 to 50 RWHP and from what you indicated you are in that range for what it's worth. 60 to 100% might get you to 315 to 320, but that's really about the limit of that tune depending on your true baseline. So do yourself a favor and everyone else, save your money, do some research, and give Jeff a call when you decide to really have some fun. Quote:

The smoothing in that graph is 3. From what I have seen around here, most people use a smoothing factor of 5. But I don't think any smoothing can do something to that graph

Yea just noticed that.... smothing 3??? Everytime I have dynoed or better yet seen dynos on this forum, the smoothing is always 5. The dyno operator did not know ANYTHING whatsoever in doing this pulls...OP, You said he does mostly imports right? Well even imports have a kickdown which basically send a signal to the DME saying, "we can downshift so we will be at 6,000 rpm's!) lol I can see the norm of people driving a 328 using the downshift alot more than on the 335's. I made a DIY on how to eliminate it and I think 15 or 20 people did as well haha. Its annoying since our cars are at peak from the low rpm all the way up and when you want to step on it, you want to slam your foot all the way down, and unless you do one of the DIY, your just going to have to kinda be gentle with throttle until you feel that kickdown and not let your leg push any harder. first thing i think i did to my car I think lol. But the dyno operator SHOULD have known what it was and known how to control is freaking leg. To be honest he shouldnt even be operating a dyno if he cant do ONE solid pull without the kickdown. and no Torque??? I hope you didnt pay for this and because every single thing on these images above look WAY off lol. I guess good "numbers" though.....
Go to a real dyno and get your car dyno'ed by someone that knows how to operate a dyno!!!

Thanks for all the responses. Yes, I will be going to a different place. It was kind of a friend of a friend deal. I had never met the guy or been to the shop. First time I've ever been on a dyno and had no clue on the smoothing, SAE vs STD, but I did know it was jacked by the graphs and no tq #'s. I found out after that the sensor that registers the tq was broken.
I do plan on hitting another shop soon. Hopefully I can post a decent graph then.
