pads/rotor advice
I just hit 60k and my pads/rotors are in dire need of replacement. Can someone recommend and set and point me in the right direction? I was pretty happy with the stock performance but I would like to find a set of pads that doesn't make as much brake dust...
-Thanks |

I'll be going with Cool Carbon pads (the Pagid Red pads made exclusively for Bavauto was my 2nd choice) for my E90 in a few months. High quality, less dust, and as good or better braking then OEM at street temps.
I used Zimmerman rotors on my E46, crossed drilled (forged with holes with Zimmerman - no drilling) on front only, solid at back and was very happy. They're a bit heavier than stock, but hold up better for wear and disipate heat better. Last edited by AlanAZ; 11-21-2009 at 01:55 PM.. Reason: more info |

+1. After the first ten miles or so these brakes were pretty much the same feel as oem on most stopping applications, though they weren't as grabby on slight speed stopping (stop and go, on OEM pads they are really grabby), which I prefer.
For the rotors I ordered slotted rotors from brakeperformance.com. Happy with them so far. EDIT: I'm no longer happy with the combo. It creates loud squealing. I'm pretty much positive it's because of slotted rotors with these pads. I love the pads, so if I can't find a way to stop the squeal I'm dropping back to plain rotors.

We have a large selection of rotors and pads available from a variety of different manufactures. For a pad that dusts less than stock, the Akebono's are a great option as well as the EBC GreenStuff.
