200mph BMW 3 Series?

I've tried looking this up and I suspect the answer is no, but is there any record of any non-M3 3 Series BMW reaching 200mph? If you have a link I'd appreciate knowing.

This isn't for anything specific. I'm not trying to build a project car, nor is this some delusion of bench racing a make believe 2000hp N54 engine. I'm just curious is all. Of all the millions of 3 series cars ever built has anyone ever taken one to 200mph?

Please no flames, or snarky comments. I'm just curious.

I would guess that it would need about 700HP to do so.

A ZR-1 can do it with 638HP but with [possibly] better aerodynamic/less front surface.

A quick search; claimed most powerful N54...a single turbo one!

Probably not....I suspect drag, vehicle dynamics, and road conditions make it impossible for anyone to reach this speed. I believe a sponsor got his 135 up to near 190mph before he thought the ride would end badly. Anyone near the Salt flats?

I bet HPF Tuning could get it to 200mph but thats turbo with meth most likely and around 30k of your money. Their getting E46 m3's to 1000hp.

HPF can't get their single turbo to run with big numbers reliably yet. I don't think they are close at all. If anyone can hit 200mph soon it would have to be a FFTEC single or VTT stage 3.

Do you have a link to that? I wanted to know what kind of aero and tires got put on to get to thank kind of speed. I know we all know we can add more power to almost any vehicle, but it's knowing what the other peices of that 200mph are that aren't so common.

Me and my brother did 198mph in his e60 m5, lowered on h and r springs with RAC monolite wheels wrapped with Michelin PS2s. Felt nice and smooth and blurry lol.

Wow. That would be incredible to feel in a street car. By any chance did you guys youtube that? I'd enjoy watching it. I know that exotics/dragsters/indy/etc do it all the time, but street cars are a different animal.

No I didn't film it. But I did take one blurry picture where it reads about 185-190mph

My E46 was to 176mph, can't imagine needing 400 more hp to get to 200.

I could be wrong, but I don't think the gearing would even allow a 335i to reach 200mph. I think it tops out at 194mph.

Snarky remarks aside, I have seen both a e90 bumper and performance auto shift knob on ebay just this last week. I was doing a search for "bmw e90" and set to display only used items. Can't tell you which auctions, but I clearly remember seeing them.

They just hit 163.6 in a half mile race on Sunday, estimated to be around 660-675 rwhp. Would be interesting to see what it could do with more room
