Great pics and lovely car.
However, driving (and admitting to driving) at ridiculously high, dangerous and ILLEGAL speeds on the public highway is damned irresponsible. Sorry to pour a bit of scorn on your thread but if I were a moderator I'd pull this, or at least edit out the 'stupid' bits. You might want to take a read of this too (taken from a thread on BMWLand) http://www.thesun.co.uk/article/0,,2-2007260136,00.html |

I'm with Peter and Andy on this one.
You can't just start racing cars on the public highway. It's irresponsible and just damn right stupid. If you must race go to a track or drive on down to Germany onto the autobahn. The Germans know how to drive at speed. Whereas in the UK we don't. People who drive between 70-90ish mph don't expect a car to appear behind them at 150mph. They have no comprehension of speeds that high. I have two friends with F355's they spent just over in court trying to get out of a dangerous driving charge against them for racing their cars on the public highway. If you must brag make sure you have not left yourself open. You took the effort to part mask your plate but not the cars on your driveway. The photo just adds evidence to plod. And if plod view this they know where you live..... |

For the record I have done 120mph on a UK dual carriageway - I wasn't racing anyone. It was just done purely to see what its like
The cars on your driveway - There is a Saab with the number plate on show. EU 03 LXZ |

"Only a matter of time"
I've not taken my 335D above 100mph. If you got caught doing 160mph here in Switzerland not even your dad could pay the fine - I kid you not. You would have your/dad's car confiscated, a HUGE fine and probably jail time. It has nothing to do with age and a lot to do with maturity. You are going to re-join the real world with a hard bump. I hope not fatally. Do you want a big shiny hero medal for bragging about doing 160mph ?? Are you wise ? D.

I'm sure your father doesn't want a hearse with you inside a coffin instead of a BMW sat in his drive. Have you ever bragged to your father what you get upto in his car? |

Not a bad write up, I really don't think that you could convince a judge that street racing or driving at 160 was using common sense though.
Have you seen some the results of untrained drivers travelling at high speed on public roads? Not pretty. Good Luck.

An A road is not a highway right?
I didn't read the OP's text because it's deleted? I once did the 155mph, at 5 'o clock in the morning with 3 lanes when nobody was on it. I had to pay 14 EUR to get on that highway, the road was perfect. The 335d is a superb car, and I was suprised how fast you get at that speed (around 45 seconds). When driving in traffic ... most of the time I don't drive more then 80-90mph (except germany sometimes). Althou you have to watch your speedo very carefully. The 335d is so silent you drive a lot faster without knowing it. Anybody care to enlighten what was originally posted?

I have not taken my car up to 100mph yet and to be honest I am not in a hurry to do so. Yes the 335 is well able to do so we all know that and dont have to brag about it or show off. It is possible to enjoy how fantastic the car is without acting like one of the boyracers in a modified Jap import.
