Just installed the AFE Stage 2 intake.. sound..

I just installed the AFE Stage 2 (oiled) intake.. and I definitely have noticed the car to be more responsive and pull harder.

HOWEVER, parking next to an E46 today with a CAI today, I noticed that the AFE doesn't sound anything like other CAI's.. There is no definitive "whooshing" sound that is trademark to a CAI. It definitely is louder than the stock box but nothing close to the noticeable CAI sound.

Can anyone else with a stage 2 chime in? Is something potentially not tight? Is the heatshield affecting it and does anyone run without the heatshield?

Different cars sound different. Shouldn't be a shocker. The e46 and e90 sound nothing alike.

I've been running this for 2 weeks now. And the reason for it it being quitter is due to the closed box design
