After working with HPF on my E46 M3's turbo kit I can say that they are an awesome company and are extremely responsive to the consumers desires... I hope we see that on the N54 platform

After receiving a few emails about this topic, I have forwarded the request and demands to look further in to this twin turbo set up with our team and engineering staff. I hope to have more information on this shortly. Thank you for your suggestions, this will give us more ideas of what this community would like to see. |

single turbo is the only way to go... upgraded twins are just to keep the really anxious people from going crazy.

I'm guessing the location of the OCC is more for ease and accessibility. Would it work better if it was lower and in a cooler location?
I'm more than pumped for the single kit, and all the parts that will come with. I was thinking that maybe for the AT guys l, the kit could come with a built trans as well or as an option. That way it's already done. Plus then there would be less issues tuning both AT and MT to the same target HP level. |

Curious, but what does the inside of the can look like? Looks like a nice clean professional kit, but why just do a "knock off" of what is already out there but with braided lines and charge $250 more? Hell, I'm going to created a silver plated OCC and charge $2,000 for it because it looks better and will reflect the heat!
Doesn't seem to me like much R&D was done to this since the location is at the hottest spot in the engine bay and the oil will not have much time to condense. Not going to bother mentioning all the other issues with cc pressure.

Thank you for everyone's patience while we collect the data for the HPF OCC. Below you will see a video on the pressure testing on the OCC and you will also see the installation of the OCC as well.
We performed the testing on a E90 335i that had the current mods done to it. - ETS 5" intercooler - ETS 2.5" Dual exhaust system - ETS 3.0" to 2.5" downpipes - ETS Dual Cone Intake system - Vishnu Procede V5 w/ 12-17maps. We are now offering a couple different options for the OCC. We understand that there are a few price points that people want to stay within. We are still offering the $499 kit for those who want to get them with the higher quality fittings and lines. We also have released the same catch can, but offered with a barb fitting and different lines to do away from the AN fittings, with exception to the AN fitting that comes off the catch can itself. This will be priced at $349. HPF oil catch can w/barb fittings! $349 HPF designed barb fittings! $99 HPF 135i/335i Oil Catch Tank Pressure Test HPF 135i/335i Oil Catch Tank Installation Last edited by HPF David; 06-25-2011 at 02:47 PM.. |

Do you have further results to share?
-The pressure restriction of the whole system is the concern, NOT just the OCC. -Concerns are related to OCC versus stock also -This is NOT measuring CC pressures which is the main performance criteria. -PSI is too broad. basically I personally cannot draw any conclusions here except that the OCC restriction is low. |

I'd like more details as well. You should be measuring with a manometer, not a boost gauge btw.
As far as aesthetics and the engineering that went into it...super cool! I just hope it tests well and the price for those classy fittings comes DOWN! haha |

The new cheaper kit has totally different fittings and hoses. ...and the fact is that the OCC is still placed over the two glowing snails with the new kit: http://i30.tinypic.com/21eavp.jpg ...and are still having the same bad uphill on the outgoing hose from the crankcase... |

IMHO it's still way too expensive for what it is - I still remember AR Design being spanked for offering an OCC at around 250 USD, and this one is double that. Placement is also an issue, I'm quite happy with the AR Design as it's far removed from the turbos and has done its job, as far as I can tell. Alpina_B3_Lux
