Anyone skiing these days?

If not... you're not missing much... any good spots?

Ill man, I'm gonna be back up there for about 10 days in march, but with the X5. Powder day was sick until my boot popped outta my snowboard and I ate complete shit down haulback (twice). I might be able to move my neck again tomorrow.

How did your boot possibly pop out of your binding? Sounds like some faulty equipment..

permasteezy.

we're getting little to snow in portland, idk how much cannon will get.
kind off topic, does anyone go to ragged? I went there and loon when I was still in the burbs...

Good skiis

Sorry for going off tangent --

I've been using these old skiis straight k2 skiis (180cm) from the 80's or 90's. People would make fun of my skiis saying they are ancient, but I love 'em because they are fast! I picked up a pair of k2 apache recons (160cm) and I really love 'em - fast and manuverable. I really wanted k2 apache crossfires, but I heard the recon's are better all around skiis so that's what I got...

Any opinions on the recons and what skiis do you own?

i have Elan Mo2 rails. they are specifcally made for rails and jibs but they are awesome in the woods and in the powder. they are 95mm under the boot with 107mm tips and tails so they are pretty wide and give nice float. they are descent on hard pack but skiing a centermount binding ski makes you think twice before dropping the hammer and goin for top speed. i would only reccomend these as a back woods\cruiser ski. if speed is your bag, look elsewhere.

you mean cm? I have some 90cm twintips with real bindings for screwing around in the park, but I need a new pair of skis. Anyone else snowboard? I'm a slight Burton brand whore.

no they are 170cm i was talking about width when i mention the mm measurements. they are full length twin tips not miniskis. i have a pair of those too but i usually just let my friend who sucks at skiing use them when he's hammered... and watch hilarity ensue when he clears table tops in the park for 5 dollars.

For those skiers who may be interested here, I'm selling a used pair of 08' K2 Public Enemy TwinTips. Used only twice last year. Bindings are Look Jib. I need to double check the length, but I believe they are 160's. Throw me an offer if interested.

I wish I still skied so I'd have an excuse to buy roof racks and use the awesome roof rack mounting ports

Went to Sunapee on Sunday. Conditions were the best I've skied in a long time. Powder everywhere and no ice to be found anywhere. May hit Waterville this weekend.

I'm probably going to be at either Waterville or Sunapee this weekend. They've both had some really great days so far.

When back to Sunapee on Monday and what a difference one warm day makes. Sunday must have been really warm and then everything froze up overnight into Monday morning. Monday was a nice sunny day but conditions were primarily frozen granular. I hope they get some more snow soon!

Okemo has been great the past few weeks. Keep in mind what a difference a fresh tune and wax will make, even for the more novice sliders among us. I grew up racing these mountains so this hardpack is what I'm used to. But having been to Okemo, Pico and Bromley all in the past two weeks, I can say all three have more good snow than bad.

Grip 'em an rip 'em!
